Grand Canyon Memorial Day Weekend Itinerary Help With Wheelchair Accessibility
Hi everyone,
I’m visiting the Grand Canyon with my family over Memorial Day weekend. We’re arriving Saturday afternoon, staying 2 nights in Tusayan, and leaving Monday night for Sedona.
My grandmother cannot walk much, so we’re bringing a wheelchair for her. We also have a rental car and an America the Beautiful Pass.
I know South Rim is closest to Tusayan, but I’m also open to North Rim suggestions if anything is actually practical with this schedule.
I’m looking for help planning a realistic itinerary for:
Saturday half-day
Sunday full-day
Monday full-day
Main things I need advice on:
- best wheelchair-friendly viewpoints
- must-see walk or trail
- whether North Rim is worth considering or too far
- places where the family can split up if some people want to hike while others stay with my grandmother
- parking/shuttle strategy for Memorial Day weekend
I don’t want to overpack the trip, especially because of my grandmother’s mobility needs and the holiday crowds. Any practical route or stop-by-stop suggestions would really help.
Thanks!
