I need Accident advice
Recently I delivered an order, backed out into the street and caused some minor damage to a car parked. Technically I was done with my dash and intending the shift to be over. At the time I thought I lightly hit a curb only to find out by police I damaged a car. My fault for not looking back. I have no prior accidents or tickets.
I have personal regular car insurance, but I was driving a family members car who also has regular insurance I'm not on their policy. But was briefly told by my family member who's agent said insurance will cover it if I was not doing doordash, if I was then it's up to doordash. As I said, the order was done and completed and I was preparing to go home.
Past comments from people who've gotten in an accident while dashing urged not to tell the insurance you are dashing at the time or you'll regret it. I'm currently being told by others don't tell DD, go thru insurance. Why is it better to go thru insurance and not DD? If anybody's kind enough to give some advice that would be appreciated.
