Ineffective Workplace Conditions
I was hired by Mercor a couple weeks back. After going through their onboard (which had errors in the documentation in regards to where to look as well as ineffective direction as to what to do), I was able to gain access to all the necessary sites to be able to do the work. This is what I have encountered:
- Access to a site where work was being assigned was told that it would take up to seven days for access but was also told that I needed to complete assessment screeners within a 24 hour timeframe
- Access to the site was granted but directions in the onboarding were very unclear so it was very difficult to find the actual location of where work was found
- The Queue, which they use to assign the work, is always full regardless of the time of day. The assessment screeners were behind the queue.
- You were required to get a mark above 80% in order to access more work. You are not shown a mark for the work you did do.
- You are not told, and have been told that you will not be told, if you work is above 80%. We are simply told to keep trying the queue.
- There are 43000 people available and only ~300 spots on the queue - a statistical rate of 0.7% chance of getting on to the queue if everyone was looking
- Identified that you will be tracked for time. I spent significant time on the onboarding to make sure I was aware of the requirements. I have been shorted about 30 minutes of time.
- We are told that you need to complete 10 hours of work minimum weekly otherwise you will be offboarded. I have tried for several days to get on the queue. Nothing. So you sit waiting to get on a queue that you have less that a 1% chance on getting and won't get paid for that time waiting.
Looks to me like I have been scammed with a job offer that was too good to be true. On to other ventures then as I await being offboarded.
