I’m on a project that is paid per task and it has been fine - all paid and approved by reviewers. These tasks are complex and take a long time. The client came back with some feedback and we are now being asked to address. Nothing in the terms or contract says we are responsible for anything after approval by the company and none of this additional work is paid. I wouldn’t have a problem if it was a substantive issue on the file that required fixing but these are minor technicalities that require going back to tasking, new QA, new trajectories, new reviews. Essentially redoing 6 month old task that were already approved and paid but for no compensation. Do I just offboard? I don’t want to impact other potential/current projects.

I was just offboarded from a high-paying project, and after a couple of uncertain weeks, I got a new instant offer. The problem is that the new offer is less than half the pay of the old project. I need to accept because it's better than nothing, but if I'm working on a project, will that make me less likely to get instant offers in the future?

I really don’t want to lose my high paying contract but I’m really out of it after a medical procedure (not so out of it I couldn’t technically work but I would be taking sick days from a regular job) If I just put my availability to 0 for this week and do however many hours I can once I recover, do I risk off boarding? People are regularly told to just update availability on Mercor rather than try to get ahold of leadership in slack, so I’m guessing this is the right move, but curious if others know for sure. It’s the big project if it helps

I wanted to see if other contractors on here are running into a frustrating issue with pay adjustments.

Basically, I logged hours and completed tasks that were fully approved, graded top tier, and actually sent to the client. But later on, I noticed hundreds of dollars were quietly shaved off my payout. 

When I asked about it, support told me that even though the work was valuable and approved, they only pay based on what they decide counts as active time. They claimed a couple of my hours did not reflect active work and said their decision was final. When I asked them to show me any evidence or data backing up that claim, they completely ghosted my emails. 

It feels like a bad setup where they take the work and use it, but then retroactively dock your hours using a black box review process with zero transparency.
Because of this, I have already spoken with attorneys at **Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP**, a top-tier plaintiffs firm known for taking on major tech companies and holding them accountable. They have agreed to look at this on a **contingency fee basis** given the significant interest and the fact that Mercor is sitting on over $500 million in capital.

If this has happened to you where your hours were manually trimmed after your work was accepted and shipped, you don't just have to eat the loss.
