I have a question for those who are working from Europe, and maybe specifically for those who do not hold an EU passport, but are residents.
How do you declare your income from Mercor for taxes?
For example, in the Netherlands, I can declare this income as “income from other source”, if I have a main income stream elsewhere. However, if one is unemployed, you would technically need to register as a freelancer, since you work as an independent contractor for Mercor.
Has any of you registered as a freelancer to do this job?
If you have any thoughts about the topic, please let me know.
Which I should probably have expected but it just went over my head when I was trying to quickly accept the offer and start working. I haven’t put any thought into just doing the tasks through my usual chrome window, and i never maximise my windows, so clearly, my personal info has been captured.
