When I mentioned I had the Killswitch case and ordered the JSAUX case a few days ago, some people asked me to update them on what it was like when I got it, so I decided to pass that information forward.
First of all, the JSAUX case took much longer than I'm used to, to arrive. It wasn't on Amazon, so I had to order it from their website when it became available. It took about two weeks to arrive, so keep that in mind.
When I put on my Killswitch for the first time, I immediately felt like a dope for buying it and wanted to take it off. It's a good case, but it adds some bulk and a bit of weight to the device. I briefly owned the Legion Go 2, so I know what a heavy handheld really is, and it isn't that, but the XAX feels really light in the hands, so that's not something I wanted to give away.
I first put on the JSAUX Mod Case like 20 minutes ago and went through a couple of runs on Balatro, so this isn't a full on YouTube style review, but I can tell you right now that it's better than the Killswitch case for a lot less money. At least for me.
Reason #2 (beyond the weight stuff) for wanting a new case was that the XAX didn't fit into the JSAUX 6-in-1 dock I bought because of the added bulk I talked about. It does with the JSAUX case. It's not a perfect fit, but it gets in there without having to remove the case. So I'm never taking it off.
The biggest difference beyond how light it is, is the improved grip. The XAX feels great in the hands, but the smoothness of the device can be a negative after a while. The grip on the JSAUX case feels like the back side of the standard Xbox Series X controller, except all around the grip. Or like the GameSir G7 Pro. I took a photo so you could see the difference. The Killswitch case is nice, but it feels kinda smooth, but it has almost a sandpaper feel. It's not rough or anything, but it feels kinda grainy, if that makes sense.
The only negative so far with the case is that the top lip of the device doesn't snap on like the Killswitch does. On the Killswitch it's totally snug on there. It kinda completely envelops that top part of the device. This one is kinda sitting on top of it. Not a deal breaker, but it's the only negative I've seen for the JSAUX case.
Considering the price difference, it's not really a contest for me. I strongly recommend the Mod Case.
