Fell for it again...
I started purchasing HelloFresh boxes in 2021. It was such a lifesaver and truly a game-changer. We purchased boxes weekly for 4 years, and then something shifted. We would get the wrong meals, missing ingredients, etc. Customer service was always on point and super helpful. Then, customer service also took a nose dive, and we would no longer get credit for missing or incorrect meals, and we were having issues weekly. We eventually decided to stop using HelloFresh until last week.
Last week, I received an offer to return with discounted boxes for the next several weeks. I decided to give it a go, hoping for a better experience. I selected my first box to be delivered on May 26th, which was the first week available, picked my meals, checked out at the discounted rate of $32.97, and went on about my business.
Today, May 17th, I got a message about my upcoming box on May 19th. I immediately reached out to customer service because I did not pick those meals (food allergies here, so yes, we have to be picky), and I am not even home this week to receive the box. Which is why I was ok and even excited to start on the 28th. Customer service said I was wrong and that the meals I picked are the ones I am getting this week. I provided the screenshots with the meals, date, and price showing what I agreed to. The current order has the discounted first week price of $32.97 on 3 completely different meals, with a different delivery date. They said there was nothing they could do. So, I canceled again.
I am sharing because I hope someone higher up than the customer service teams sees this. They offer no discounts to regular customers. I went 4 years with weekly boxes, spent thousands of dollars, and truly love the meals. They have no interest in retaining customers and take absolutely no accountability anymore when something goes wrong.
