Looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with Saudia cancellations and UK261 claims.

SV123 Jeddah (JED) → Manchester (MAN) 08:15 – 12:55

I separately purchased a business class upgrade on SV123 (JED–MAN) via Saudia’s My Upgrade system.

What happened:
• SV839 (MLE–JED) was cancelled
• This caused me to miss SV123 (already upgraded to business)
• Saudia rebooked me on Qatar Airways via Doha the next day
• I arrived in Manchester ~24 hours late, flying economy.

Saudia have told me to submit a claim via their complaints/feedback form, which has a 50-character field requiring flight number + date (e.g. “SV839 27Apr26 cancelled MLE-JED”). I’ve only uploaded my e-ticket itinerary as proof.

Questions:
Should the business class upgrade be claimed separately (refund of upgrade cost) or included in the disruption claim?
Does this qualify for UK261 compensation (~£520) given the final destination was Manchester and arrival was ~24 hours late?
Has anyone successfully claimed both refund + compensation from Saudia, and did they pay out without escalation?
Is there a better contact route than the website form?

Any experiences with Saudia claims would be really helpful.
