If you are a student or worker planning to open a blocked account in Germany, do NOT choose Fintiba. Choose any other provider.
Fintiba is completely unreliable. Their communication is extremely poor — they rarely answer emails (I sent one over two weeks ago and still have no reply), and when you call, you are given misleading or inconsistent information. Their English support line is useless; no one ever responds. The only way to reach someone is through the German line.
I have been left stranded for a month without access to my money. As a student who relies entirely on my blocked account, this is unacceptable. My April and May payments were supposed to be transferred, but I only received one payment at the end of April (29.04).
What makes this worse is the constant false promises. I was repeatedly told my money would arrive in “2–3 working days,” but it arrived literally at the end of the month. Even today, I was told my may payment would arrive — and it didn’t. This creates false hope and puts you in serious trouble when you have rent, insurance, groceries, or other urgent expenses to pay. You end up telling people your money is “on the way,” only to find out it isn’t.
This is not just poor service — it directly affects people’s ability to live. If you check online forums like Reddit, you will see many others facing similar problems, often waiting for months without clear solutions.
They cannot be trusted with your money, especially if you are living abroad and fully dependent on it. I will be going to my university’s Rechtsberatung next Monday to explore possible legal action I can take.
Avoid Fintiba at all costs.
