Hi everyone,

I'm from the 2026 batch and recently got my joining letter from TCS, but I'm a bit confused about the BGC (Background Check) document upload process on the NextStep portal.

Here is my timeline for reference:

• NQT: 21 March
• Interview: 11 April
• Document Verification Mail: 21 April
• Offer Letter: 24 May generated, accepted on 30 May
• Joining Preparedness Survey: 9 July
• Joining Letter Received: 30 July (for TCS Yamuna, Noida)

I submitted my initial set of BGC documents within a week of getting the offer letter. Since then, the portal shows my documents as "Approval Pending" and the "Submit" button is completely disabled.

I have two main questions:

1. 8th Semester Marksheet: I previously uploaded marksheets up to the 7th semester. I now need to upload my 8th-semester marksheet and other remaining documents, but I don't have the option to do so because the submit button is greyed out. When does the portal typically unlock to allow uploading these pending documents? Do my initial documents need to be approved first?
2. Web-Attested vs. Original Marksheets: When I first submitted my documents, I uploaded web-attested copies of my marksheets. I now have the original marksheets. Should I upload the originals instead? If so, when and how will I get the option to do this given the disabled submit button?

Has anyone else experienced this? Will the portal open up again soon, or should I be reaching out to someone? Also, the date to complete the document uploading is mentioned as 5th Aug. Should I mail them regarding this, and whom to mail?

I just received the JPS mail.

It is asking to select the expected date to receive the 7th sem marksheet.

But I already have all the marksheets and Provisional degree.

So what should i choose? Previous date or todays date?
