Got stuck in my house, so I gave it a lil treat and send it on its way <3

Sorry about the shaking, this was as steady as I could keep my hands

Edit: turns out it had a friend inside! Fed and released that one too :) didn't have to trap either of them, just set the fork and blueberry outside, then let them finish up and go on their way

AIO for being upset that my bf cut my pictures carelessly?

This is definitely a very mild situation, but it's making me feel like I'm crazy for pointing it out.

So, for context, I (25f) was gifted two photos that had a white border around them. I was waiting to borrow the paper cutter from work so I could cut them nicely and evenly, so they'd fit perfectly in the frames I bought for them. I was finally able to borrow the paper cutter, and set the photos next to them so I could cut them when I had the time. When I finally got the chance, I went to go cut them, but noticed that the white borders around them were now cut unevenly and messily, with most of the white part still being around the edges. I asked my boyfriend (23m) if he was the one who cut them, and he said he was. I then pointed out that because he cut them so weirdly, I can't line them up well.

I get that he was trying to do something nice for me, but he didn't even fully cut the white borders off, which was the entire point of me cutting them in the first place. The cuts were also jagged, like he used scissors instead of the paper cutter that cuts in one smooth motion (which he knew I wanted to use for this specific purpose).

What really bothers me here isn't just the photos being uneven, its that he knew they meant something to me and didn't care enough to cut them well. It also didn't spare me from having to do it myself because he left big portions of the border still on. Now I still have to do it, but it's not as easy because nothing is even. It bothers me that he couldn't bother to line them up at all. He knew these photos were gifts, he knew I bought frames for them, and he knows that I am neurotic about things like that. And he still did in such a half-assed way.

After pointing it out, he got mad at me because he was "trying to help." How is it helpful to cut them and leave the border still on??? I did not yell at him, I was simply baffled by his choices here. He said "well apparently I don't care" and slammed the door.

My mom said I was "being a dick" because he was "doing his best," but I know he's not that incompetent. He's an artist, he knows how to line things up and make them look nice. There is no way that was his best, and to suggest so would almost be an insult. The paper cutter is very simple and easy to use, it has lines all over it to help you line everything up. The entire purpose of the paper cutter is to help you line things up and cut perfectly straight. I'm genuinely more confused than angry, like how could this have possibly been perceived as helpful?

TLDR: sad that bf didn't put any effort into this very simple task

AIO?

Edit: just to clarify, I WAS able to fix the photos.
I did not yell at him or attempt to belittle him, I simply told him that it bothered me and that I was confused about his process here.
I don't think he did it on purpose to hurt me, it just bothers me that he did it so carelessly.
This is definitely not a big deal, and I don't plan on bringing it up to him again. I really just want opinions.
I replied to a few comments, but it's getting late and I have to get some sleep, so I'll read the rest in the morning.
Thanks for your replies, I can definitely see both sides here!
