Elevated WBC in Pregnancy

Before getting pregnant my WBC was a 10.3. I am currently in remission (praise Jesus) for a skin condition that causes inflammation in the body (HS), always have allergies, and have had serious issues with stress management. At 12 weeks pregnant, I got my bloodwork done and my WBC was at 16, then a week later got retested and it was at 17. I will say, I’ve had a million things going on in my personal life where my stress levels have been through the roof, but my OB referred me to a hematologist and I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance.

She mentioned that WBC can be a red flag for blood cancers… and that terrified me to my core. She also mentioned that it very well could be normal for me, but she wants to get a hematologist’s blessing. She said she treats people with autoimmune conditions and they aren’t usually that high, she said “yours is extremely elevated, so this is not normal.” All my other labs came back completely normal.

I’ve read a few different threads on here that have made me feel a bit better, but does anyone have any insight that might help me not stress about this until I get some clarity?
