Original descriptions of the 1L (Confident Logic) sub-archetypes from the Attitudinal Psyche site

(According to the site, Logic is the Aspect that reigns over "truth-seeking, facts, details, data comparisons, rationale, reasoning, argumentstion, cognition, logical assessments, categorizations, systems, analyses, and proofs."

The first position is self-positive/others-negative).

1L-1

Accentuated Confident Logic

Can be seen as a highbrow intellect who believes they have the right answers without needing to ask anyone else to decide what is true. Insular logic, refers to the self and what they have learned previously to explain their opinions. Tends to ignore criticism or shrug it off. Believes that they can easily find the right answers and are fine with expressing this sentiment openly. Believes they are the authority of what is true or false. Finds the answers they need on their own. When prompted or asked, will reply in monologues about their experience with the logic of whatever subject is at hand.

*Note: If you relate to all 4 subtypes of 1L, you are likely the accentuated 1L-1 subtype. This is due to the reflexive nature of this subtype which results in seeing all perspectives, advantages, disadvantages, strengths, weaknesses, etc, but still resulting in one’s own concept of the aspect.

1L-2

Overlay Confident Logic

This is the 1L subtype that finds themselves educating others even when it is not expected of them. Naturally fills the position of literary or academic leader. Ignores their own vulnerabilities and even when they realize they are incorrect – will reframe the experience as an opportunity to become better. Points out when others are wrong and offers the correct answer. Can become self-righteous about logic. Wants others to see them as logically consistent. Needs to be seen as the purveyor of truth that can withstand any outside threats or challenges towards their reasoning abilities.

1L-3

Candid Confident Logic

This 1L subtype gives advice on how to avoid being wrong. Extreme sensitivity to being called out. Dislikes looking paradoxical, contradictory, or unreasonable but will double down against anyone suggesting that they are logically inferior – often challenging them to explain themselves. Calls out untruths, feels compelled to share their own version of the truth with the world. Tells others how they can challenge them. Paints a picture of their understanding of how reality works, fears included. Wants honest feedback even if it is exceptionally negative or critical.

1L-4

Standby Confident Logic

Most lax 1L subtype. Feels that they are right by default so they do not have to argue or overtly express themselves. Will listen to opinions just to gather data that they may find interesting later. Takes a long time to become annoyed enough to openly disagree with others. Believes that the truth is self-evident for everyone so there does not need to be constant discussion of facts and data. Hides their own arrogance and opinionated nature in favor of getting along. Asks questions and expects accurate information – does not want to waste time or be drawn into disagreements. Surprises others when they are pushed to harshly disagree and dismiss bad points of view."
