Have been a very successful G6 user for many years now. I’m moving to the G7 only because I’m being forced to because they are discontinuing the G6 after this year. Finally started using my first G7 sensor last night, and it was horrible. Learned my lesson about inserting in the evening and will only be doing morning from now on. And probably marinating the sensor for at least 12 hours to a day before. It woke me up every hour claiming my blood sugar was 50. But then it would bounce around and be high. The only issue I’d ever had with the G6 was some artificial lows for the first few hours or so, but those were easily corrected with a calibration (and before the “don’t calibrate the first day” people come for me, it worked for me and never gave me issues with accuracy. Only improved it).
Anyways… mostly just wanted to vent about what I think will end up being an inferior product. Also, if you use the over tape like the instructions demand, the profile of it on your arm isn’t even smaller really. Ridiculous…
Thanks for listening to my rant! Aside from marinating the sensor, welcome any pro tips anyone wants to offer to increase first day accuracy.
