What are these dark spots

My pool looks like it has leprosy with these dark spots, circled in red. They started last year when I didn’t have enough stabilizer in the water and I couldn’t keep the chlorine levels high enough. I’ve since fixed that, but these dark spots remain. I’ve tried brushing them away with a steel brush, black algaecide, general algaecide, and over chlorinating. Nothing has worked to remove them. I don’t think more are showing up, which is good, but I can’t get rid of them existing ones. Anyone have any ideas?

Location: Central Florida
Pool Type: Salt

I inherited my dad's 1958 MGA and one of the many things he told me was that he added STP Lead Substitute to the fuel whenever he filled up. He also said he'd only use ethanol free gas.

Recently a mechanic who works on classic cars, including MGs, said to use Marvel Mystery Oil instead of lead substitute. I trust the guy, but wanted to do a bit of research on the topic first. Has anyone on here used Marvel Mystery Oil instead of lead substitute?
