Chances of going from L2 Butcher to ATL within a year?

Question in the title.

I’ve been here for around 2 months. Love it so far, it’s stressful as hell a good amount of times but I thrive in environments like that. So far, my ATLs and TL have noticed that and told me such. I’m interested in going up the ladder, but I saw that I have to have 6 months tenure to even apply for it.

I know 6 months is usually a special occasion or a rare occurrence, so that why I said 1 year in my title as I believe that’s a more realistic timeline given my 5 years experience as a butcher and 8 years experience in grocery stores.

I expressed interest in going into leadership to my STL, as to plant the seed per se, so I was wondering if anyone else has any insight to this. TYIA!!

Weed and Rheumatoid Arthritis

I find that THC has helped me a fuck ton with my RA. It doesn’t dull the pain the same way steroids do, but it makes my joints significantly less rigid and stiff.

My issue is that I try to avoid anything that I have to inhale since my injections (DMARDs and Biologics) have a side effect of lowering my immune system, since the disease is, in a nutshell, an overactive immune system, and that’s one of the only true ways to combat the symptoms.

To anyone that has RA and uses oral methods, what’s your personal favorite that also helps the most? TYIA!

Anyone know the percentage of his audience based on gender?

I mostly asked this because he has stated a few times in recent episodes that the majority of his audience, are women. But I’m mostly curious if it’s a big percentage difference, instead of maybe 52% women 48% men type shit.

Leaving. Know your worth

TL:DR At the end.

Tomorrow is my last day at Publix. Yes, I know you don’t care, I’m not here for that. I just wanted to vent and let some people know that there is better out there. I got a job at Whole Foods as a Level 2 Butcher, and the pay is substantially higher.

I got hired back after being gone for a year at 16.50. If I stayed longer enough for my eval to kick in, I would be leaving at 17.65, but I’ll be leaving at 17.10. That’s barely fifty cents per year, and I was seen as the most valuable part timer but couldn’t get full time because I “wasn’t there yet” meanwhile, the other apprentice was given both full time and the Meat Cutter title within a few months of each other, and he was both slower and less knowledgeable than myself (which is not a bad thing at all, if he wasn’t getting promoted over me, but if the full time meat cutter is coming up to the part time meat cutter and asks them how to cut something, it makes you wonder)

The carrot of full time was dangled in my face for god knows how long. I worked so damn hard for it, I got on meds for my ADHD, I went the extra mile, I lost a bunch of weight, and while all of this wasn’t SOLELY for work I would be lying if I wasn’t thinking about how it could help me get promoted.

Fast forward a year and after transferring stores that had a full time spot available with a manager I loved working with and some health problems getting taken care of, corporate is slashing hours yet again. My manager has told me multiple times that I would have full time if it wasn’t for the hours getting cut, so I had enough. Applied at Whole Foods and had an interview not even 2 weeks later. A week after that, they gave me an offer of full time at $23.50/hr. For those wondering, the max for a meat cutter is $23.10 at Publix, which means they undervalue us. Big time. And yes, I know we got stocks, but that extra pay increase invested properly will out perform Publix any day of the week.

The whole point of this isn’t to brag, it’s to encourage people to not be afraid to find something else that will be better for them. I know those who have drank the Kook-Aid will try to convince you that hard work pays off, but those at the same people that will also use you for your hard work and never promote you.

There’s also more I can get into, but this post if long enough. It’s been fun working with everyone I’ve worked with, but I think that’s the only part of my job I’ll actually miss.

TL:DR - Got underpaid and promised promotions for 2 years, even after switching stores just to have corporate slash hours and lower raise standards. Went to Whole Foods for a $6/hr pay raise and full time. Know your worth, no regrets.

Quitting soon, questions about stocks.

So my question is essentially if I’m going to be keeping my stocks or not. I worked from July 2020 to July 2023 the first time around, and now this time around I will be here for two years. I did not lose my stocks beforehand when I had separated, but I’m wondering if anything has changed from this time.

Recently had an interview that went well, what pay should I expect?

Hey everybody. So recently I had an interview that went extremely well, they even told me that there was a very high chance of going to call me with an next couple days. The position that I am most likely getting hired for is butcher, level two. They told me the pay range was anything from $20.00 to $29.50 an hour, which is a massive increase from the current pay I have now. I’m a meat cutter at Publix, and I have been cutting for about 4 1/2 to 5 years. I have also worked at Mom and Pop shops and on actual farms where I slaughtered and broke down whole steers. Given my experience, I asked them for a mid range between $24 an hour and $25 an hour.

My question is, should I expect them to go with the pay range that I have suggested given my experience, or should I expect them to give me an offer closer to the lower end?
