Always entertaining even when he sleeps

He stayed like this until I said his name, stretched, then went to sleep with his eyes open.

Dog's anxiety when I'm away

Before Keppra ER, my dog seemed to have seizures in two situations. 1. He overheats or is just overstimulated outside without me with him (it must be some combination but he has no issues with walks). Or 2. I'm gone for 6-8+ hours (he just cares about my absence, people can be home with him and he was likely to have a seizure within a few hours of me coming home from an extended absence). So, I believe my absence is causing anxiety.

My current situation is such that I'm just not away from home much, so my idiopathic epileptic dog doesn't need a daily prescription anxiety med, at least, not yet, and so far 6+ months we've been on Keppra ER with no obvious seizures (he acted a little strange once, but there was no seizure). Prior to Keppra ER, he was having one seizure a month, and a cluster seizure occurred (after I was gone for 10 hours) that put us on Keppra ER.

So now it's the summer and obviously we have to make adjustments for our dogs, but I have a kid that wants a vacation, and I can't blame him. My mother will dog sit and her speech and mannerisms sound a lot like me, so while I hope that will help I don't expect it will be enough. I have a call into the vet to see if I can give an extra dose of Keppra (non-er) for when I arrive home, but the question is, should I be doing something more for his anxiety *while I'm away*? I'd rather not give him an RX med we don't know his response to for just these short situations (only 2 nights). Has anyone tried and had some success with those diffusers or thunder vests or pheromone collars? I've seen calming treats but they have L-Theanine, which I believe is a bad idea for epilepsy. I understand CBD is an option but I'm not sure if that's legal in my state, since they keep changing those laws, or the pet laws are different (Ohio 🙄).

If anyone has navigated these short situations with a velcro dog, I would be interested in hearing your experiences! I absolutely don't want to spend money on a vacation to turn around and spend the same amount 3 days later on an ER vet visit! For longer absences I do plan on bringing him with me, but for shorter situations I feel like we should be able to manage this, considering his situation.

Too much info for citizenship?

How much detail to provide for proof? Here's the situation. Canadian ancestor & family settles into a Canadian town with children, from England, and has more children in Canada too. 5 years before my ancestor dies, I find 9 deed records showing he signed as a witness, proving him there in a very legal way which is a gold mine. Now, the commissioner of something or other, of the town, also signs most of these deeds. Come to find out, around this time the commissioner marries my ancestor's oldest daughter.

I'm obviously getting proof of these land deeds, or, really their "memorials" as they're called. (And of course more proof of each family individual down the line to me plus census records). But I want to show how much this family impacted this town, or is this marriage overkill with what I already can prove? I also have him signing as a witness to a land deed with the church group of the area, so clearly the man was considered an active town member.

Anyway, does this marriage really matter for my claim regarding the father as my link? Do I provide his daughter's marriage record? I do have it. Does it need to be certified? I don't have that. Does it matter that this commissioner was also born in England? Census records show they had children. This oldest daughter that married the commissioner guy is Not my line, but another daughter is.

Even though he was found like this by my kid and still didn't move, he was, in fact, ok. Rainy day problems, I guess.
