So I started this fun little project where I'm reimiaging other people's songs off Suno, ones that people have opened up for remixing. Not because I think im making them better, only different. The changes I imagine. Sometimes that's a healthy rewrite like last week with Miraje's awesome Up All Night track, to some more minimal like a track i have slated for a couple weeks from now that im absolutely in love with, and only had minor things I changed.

This one was an oddball, because the original song was good, the recording was crisp, the vocals hit, but it was accoustic-pop and I just felt like it really really wanted some of that warm access virus style 2000s era trance plucks, some detuned FB pads, nothing crazy, but like.. filling out the space a bit more, and like gang vocals, for some reason I instantly thiught of like alexisonfire crisis era and gang vocals, so I got to work.

Lyrically the rewrite is not really changing the song, just, my personal choices. Overall I think its awesome. A little more sadboy than I really want to do, and i know an actual vocalist would raise this thing so far above what suno can do, this song desperately wants a soulful male vocalist. Desperately wants to be BELTED out then cut down to almost a whisper.. to just FEEEL the crushing longing, juxtaposed against the hollow emptiness they are in.

But you work with what you got, and overall I think it turned out as a great flip.

Anyways, nobody looks at these, let alone reads the whole dear diary entry. If you listened, appreciate you. If you read this, oof. We both need to work on getting a hobby or something 😊
