So I’ve been on Elvanse now nearly a month. I’m waiting for a prescription for 60mg. I’m currently on 50mg.

Week one - I started of 30mg, I don’t know what I was expecting I guess I thought everything would be “normal” but it wasn’t. I think I got my hopes up to much to be fair. I genuinely didn’t notice anything on 30mg, only side effects like dry mouth, less appetite.

Week two - I went up to 40mg. Again I still didn’t feel much difference. Maybe my head was a bit quieter and I noticed my shaking of my leg or tapping where before I never noticed it until someone said stop tapping or whatever.

Week three - I went up to 50mg and have been on this for a couple of weeks nearly. I do 100% have a quieter brain but it really doesn’t last long like 4 hours maximum. I don’t really “crash” I just feel more distracted than earlier in the day and my focus gets worse.

CareADHD said I should go up to 60mg and see what happens but like what should happen. What am I actually working to, at what point can I say, yeah this is “normal”. I still have days where I’m unfocused or my “ADHD normal” so I’m struggling to see any real impact from the medication.

People around me though are saying good things I’m more patient, I’m focused, I have less mood swings etc etc. But I’m really not seeing it.

I don’t know, I still forget everything. My purpose/overall question I planned to ask at the start of this has now gone from my head. I guess what is non ADHD normal, I’ve been this way for 30+ years, is Elvanse going to fix everything or should a quieter brain and better focus for a few hours a day be enough for me.

I did also take a day off last week just to try and compare and it was only then I noticed things were visibly different and my days on medication are easier.

TLDR; is Elvanse really working for me, when do I think this is enough and what is a medicated normality.
