How long for amnio results

We had amnio on 5 Aug. Got reassuring FISH results on 7 Aug.

Phone today hoping there is some results (13 days) but MFM office told me this could be 3-4 weeks😭. I could handle the 2 week wait, but 4 weeks I might start to go insane.

How long did your microarray and karyotype take?

False Positive for T18

Its going to be long one!

9 May - Pregnant!!!

10 May - Pink spotting and light bleeding. Stops during the next 24hrs

23 May - Medium bright red bleeding for 3 days while on a work trip

30 May - ER visit for heavy bleeding. Baby looked fine, heart beating. SCH of 4cm as possible cause of bleeding. Officially a "threatened miscarriage"

15 June - Woke up, and got to bathroom. Standing in a puddle of blood. Felt like this is finally it. OB said they dont know the source as SCH is too small for this amount of blood. Baby is still fine and high up in uterus.

30 June - First NIPT results inconclusive after 2 weeks

10 July - 2nd NIPT

20 July - NIPT results >99.7 for T18 with low mosaicism.

21 July - Quick scan at OB, couldnt see any obvious redflags, but baby is small and their scan is not as detailed. But baby has stomach, bladder, heart and 2 brain hemispheres.

27 July - First GC meeting - explanation of results, how Amnio works, Fish/Karyotype/ microarray etc

31 July - Second GC meeting - this one was horrible and focused alot on TFMR and profound disabilities our son might have. I shut down during the call.

5 Aug - Finally detailed scan and amnio DAY! Detailed scan show 0 markers for T18. Sounds very promising. Scan did show placenta is abnormal - weird shape and extremely large. Issues would be early deterioration and IUGR. Suspected CPM. Procceeded with amnio for true diagnostic result.

6 Aug - MFM phoned and said lab verbally told her FISH is clear, they are drawing up report. Strong suspicion of CPM T18 and this we will test after baby is born. But for now we can breath again.

That period from 30 June after first NIPT till 6 Aug was the worst in my life. I have no more tears left. I was bombarded with termination paperwork as everyone wanted me to be prepared and not have a delay. Felt really alone and isolated too. Even after our good results yesterday - it is almost if my brain cannot realise we are through the worst part and might have a good outcome. The trauma of the last couple of weeks did not just magically dissappear, it is lingering and I am struggling to feel truly happy as I almost expect to hear bad news again and is preparing myself in advance to shield from this trauma again.

Dont know if that makes sense. But I hope the sadness and despair will slowly lift from my life and that I can start enjoying this pregnancy.

Labor & Delivery options for TFMR

Our genetic councillor told us D&E is the only option we have in Missouri and we cannot do labor and delivery. She said its not offered anywhere in the US and that seems incorrect. We are still waiting on testing and final results but want to be prepared.

I would do the TFMR is our amnio show T18, however I want it to be L&D and see my actual baby as he is very much loved already.

Where did you do an L&D in the US?

First NIPT inconclusive, 2nd T18 mosaicism

Trying not to get my hopes up too much, by all studies etc that I read said mosaicism may contain the T18 to the placenta. ChatGTP even said the Lab Director Comments are encouraging

I am just spiraling and see-sawing between hope and despair. Waiting on MFM to confirm my date for detailed scan and amnio.

Came back >99% for T18

Our first NIPT came back inconclusive as too low FF at 12weeks. Redid test, came back >99% for T18.

We are having a debrief with OB tomorrow and will schedule amnio - I am around 15weeks. So can go next week for amnio.

My husband would like to stay hopeful however I feel like its false hope and that we should prepare to TFMR.

Any stories or feedback will help.
