For as long as I can remember I've been struggling with getting my point across. It honestly just feels like no one listens. No matter how many times I explain, no matter how I reword it, no matter from which angle I approach it. Most of the time it's easier for me to just do everything myself instead of asking someone to do it.
For example: recently I was explaining to my mom how arabic writing is different to ours, and you can't learn to read it without speaking it first. She was just going on about how "so it's similar to chinese".
Or another time we were moving a bed, and it wasn't fitting through the door frame. I kept trying to explain that if we rotate the bed it will fit, but nobody listened. I ended up angrily rotating it myself and getting it through the door frame. Only then everybody understood what I was saying.
This even happens in professional setting. Recently in an interview I got asked a simple question. It was "what's the difference between this and that" type of question. I started explaining the differences, and the interviewer laughed and goes "no this is (other completely unrelated thing)". I don't even know where he got it from.
Sadly, this seems to be a me issue. In all of these situations I am the common denominator.
Just ranting. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
