So I posted in here with a question about some moss I had. The verdict was that it was very much dead, gone, mouldy, no saving it. Seemed I'd overwatered it. I was disappointed but gave up on it, put my containers outside to clean out and try again with a plan to do my base with pebbles, charcoal and sphagnum moss below my soil to allow better drainage. Well I have ADHD and out of sight = out of mind. I forgot to clean out the container but found it when I went to go search for a bigger pot for an aloe plant that had outgrown it's current pot 2 days ago. I was surprised to find it looking like this- especially as it was just about swimming from the rain that had collected in it (I'm in Australia so it's winter here). Carefully tipped out the water while not tipping out the contents, brought it back inside and during the day when the sun is out it turns green and lush like this, goes dormant overnight and then lights back up green and happy looking when the sun comes out. I haven't a clue how it went from that dead, mouldy horrible state to this but YAY!!! A mossy miracle to share with you all!!

Tips for worn out pants crutch areas?

I tend to wear boho/hippy style loose thin flowy pants with various prints and colourful designs. I've seen mending tutorials online for holes in the crutch area of jeans or single colour pants that involve getting a thread of matching colour to the pants and I guess kinda weaving over the hole and its quite invisible due to the colour match and nice even, close stitching. But given the patterns I can't really do that. I've done a little visible mending but not keen on bringing attention to that area ya know? I did try with some pj pants just sewing the hole closed on the sewing machine and found suddenly they didn't fit right (obviously to anyone who is experkenced in clothing repairs or making I'm sure, but a learning moment for me) Any advice is appreciated.

Note my skills are very amature- I'm slowly learning how to mend my clothes, mostly doing visible mends as patches and embroidery don't look out of place on my boho/hippie attire. I can use a machine for basic stuff (tote bags, mass during the pandemic, simple hem repairs- whatever requires no more than a straight and zigzag stitch essentially)

What's this white stuff in my moss house? Is all my moss contaminated and is that a problem?

So I had an opportunity to grab a bunch of moss when dad was getting rid of an old wooden saw horse that had rotted through and had moss growing over the whole thing. I didn't have the stuff or exact vision for a mossarium yet but it was something I wanted to make so I set up two mini green houses for growing seeds into seedling that were currently unused, put in

pebbles, dirt, some sticks and stones with the hope the moss would grow onto them and I could grow more moss over time with these nice environments.

I've noticed over time some of this white stuff first in one of them, assumed it was dense spider web- that there must be a spider in there somewhere, didn't worry much.

Yesterday I started pulling the pieces of moss out to box up and give to a friend who needs some for a terrarium. Realised this stuff is not spider webs, it starting to grow in the second house too and seems to be starting on the sticks and then growing through the moss closest. Where it starts on the wood there is evidence of fungus spores and in the one that got it first so had been growing it longer there were some little baby mushrooms growing off the stick in a couple of these spots.

Because I thought it was webs I had got a brush and was just going to brush it off the moss as I pulled it out and boxed it up but realised its something to do with the fungus, its all through those pieces of moss and I cant pull it off, its very much through it. So i've thrown out any sticks with signs of fungus, tried not to include any of the moss with white stuff on it.

Does anyone know what the white stuff is or had fungus issues come up in their terrariums?

Is it safe to give my friend this moss or is it all probably infected with fungus spores? Am i going to ruin his terrarium with a fungal infection?
