Is my cat becoming a chonker?

This is Cream. She is 8 months old. Last vet visit was around 5 months for her spay appt, where we asked if he thought she was gaining weight. He said not really, and suggested that since she is still underage, we free feed.

However I am concerned since I can't really feel her ribs, unlike her brother, same age, same weight (3.6kg) who looks and feels skinny. We stopped free feeding and are giving them monitored quantities three times a day, but I feel terrible seeing them run around the house looking for food. Should I resume free feeding?

They eat kibble daily, and wet food twice a week as a treat.

Felt my baby for the first time today!

I am 18 weeks as of yesterday with my first baby. It is the time where I only visit the doctor monthly and had not felt any movement whatsoever. I think I felt it today, yes it might have been gas or something but I think it was the baby and I'm sticking to the hope and belief 😁

I just needed to share with people who have been through this or are walking/thinking of going down the same road. I wish all of you a great day, all the best to your families and for all the hopes and dreams you have for your families to come true.

When, if ever, does the constant worry stop?

Those who already have babies will probably laugh at my question like, honey, once its born that's when the worries begin.

I know, and I really am grateful for the chance so far, but to explain my thoughts a little, I am currently 17 weeks along my first pregnancy, which was planned. Everything has been a source of worry. We did the nuchal translucency test and that was the first tear of relief when the results were ok.

Recently my friend who has not been pregnant was visiting and she made a joke when she went to change tampons lile "bet you're happy you've forgotten about this for the time being", which was absolutely light hearted and well meaning on her part but I almost broke into tears seeing how every time I use the bathroom I am terrified I'll be sweeping blood. I am so grateful that so far it hasn't happened but I keep expecting everything to go wrong. I told my obgyn at my last visit that since it had been about a month between visits and I haven't felt the baby move yet, I was anxious to check that everything was ok, and she said basically, yes it's normal to feel some anxiety but try not to think about all the ways this could go wrong.

I mean, if I could, I definitely would. How do you guys deal?

It is way too soon for me (15 weeks) but I need distractions from some unrelated terrible things happening.

I have been getting ads about reusable nappies, specifically a kind that is comprised of three parts: a disposable tissue that supposedly catches solids, a reusable nappy that collects the urine and a diaper cover. Apparently you can wash the nappies, throw the paper, and air dry the cover (or wash if it gets soiled). The sites I checked out say you would need about 18-20 diapers for the duration of the baby's non-potty-trained life, and it is supposed to be eventually less expensive, help your kid get potty trained earlier (no idea why) and also I don't mind the eco friendly/skin friendly aspect of it.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with such products and/or what their experience has been. I should note that I will be getting a long maternity leave (about a year at least) so I would be able to use the method I want and not what the daycare requires.

Thank you everyone in advance!
