How do you actually get more reviews as a small business?

I recently took over an old-school bar (about a year ago now), and one thing I’ve noticed is that even when customers seem happy and keep coming back, it rarely turns into Google reviews.

The business also barely shows up online, so I’ve been slowly trying to modernize things without making it feel too techy or forced. I’ve looked at things like QR codes, QuickFeedback-style tools, and even “Happy or Not” type feedback terminals to try and capture reactions in the moment.

But I’m still not sure what actually works in practice, especially since people usually leave in groups and aren’t really thinking about reviews at that point.

What’s actually worked for you to consistently get reviews without it feeling awkward or pushy?

At what point in history did humans start seeing nudity as inappropriate?

Im not really talking about clothes for cold weather, protection, etc. I mean more socially/psychologically.

Humans evolved originally being naked, so at what point did society start viewing nudity as something embarrassing, shameful, or inappropriate?

Why do some people blame ADHD for so many things?

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 5, and I’m 25 now. I understand that ADHD can genuinely make things harder, but sometimes it feels like people use it to excuse poor time management and other bad habits instead of taking responsibility for them.

I’m currently looking into stable shipping options for my clothing brand. Nothing massive yet, probably around 6 pallets per month, but I still need something reasonably priced with reliable support since unnecessary costs add up fast when you’re still growing.

The reason I’m asking about FreightRun specifically is because I reached out to a few companies for information and they were actually the quickest to respond. I’ve also contacted uShip, C.H. Robinson, and FreightCenter, so I’m comparing a few different options right now.

The shipments would be standard 48" x 40" pallets, roughly around 500–700 lbs each depending on packing.

Main things I’m looking for are fair pricing, reliable delivery, decent customer support, and just an overall smooth experience long term. Curious what companies people here have had the best experience with.

So we have a small deck, around 10×10 ft (≈ 9 m²), and we’re thinking about installing cable railings. A few neighbors have them and they look super clean and modern, which is exactly what we’re going for.

I’ve been looking at some options from BuyRailings and their kits seem pretty straightforward for DIY. But I keep seeing mixed opinions online some people say they’re low maintenance, others say they’re a pain because you have to keep re-tensioning the cables over time.

From what I’ve read, most systems use stainless steel (303 vs 316), and the 316 “marine grade” holds up better outdoors. Also seems like spacing (around 4 inches) and getting the tension right from the start matters a lot.

I’ve got some woodworking experience, but nothing with cable systems like this, so I’m not totally confident in my own take.

Curious how they actually hold up over time. Do you end up adjusting them a lot, or is it more of a set-it-and-forget-it thing?

I’ve been building a few small internal tools lately (simple dashboards, trackers, a basic mail merge, etc.), and I keep running into tradeoffs depending on the tool.

Bubble is powerful, but feels like overkill when I just want to spin something up quickly.

Glide is super fast to start with, but I hit limitations pretty quickly once I need more custom logic.

I’ve also tried the Zapier + Google Sheets route, which works fine at first, but it gets messy fast when things grow and you’re juggling multiple tools.

More recently I came across Buildable, which seems like a middle ground (UI + logic + automation in one place), but I’m still figuring out where it really fits compared to the others.

What I’m looking for is something that lets me:

  • build small apps quickly
  • handle some custom logic / dynamic data
  • avoid stitching together 4–5 different tools

Curious what others are using for this. Is there a tool that actually nails this use case, or is the “best setup” still a combination of tools?

Hey guys, so the missus and I are thinking about totally removing our stairway to the 2nd floor and putting in a spiral staircase like this to save a lot of space. We’ve looked into different options online, checked a few videos, and also spoken to a couple professionals who said it’s totally fine to do, but since we’d be doing it ourselves we’d be saving a good amount of money, which is kind of the main reason we’re considering it. We got a few quotes and let’s just say it wasn’t really in our range, so we’re now looking at buying a full staircase kit.

Since we’ve never done anything like this before, I’m just wondering if there’s anything we really need to think about before going for it. I’ve already watched a few install videos and read some general advice, but I know from experience it doesn’t always go how it looks online.

I’ve seen a lot of stories online about strange or creepy things happening in the Appalachian region. Are these based on real experiences, local folklore, or mostly internet exaggeration?
