HXRT Casting Director Discussion
I am still confused as to why they decided to use external casting directors for seamingly all of Hybe America's newest projects?
Clearly, Michelle (Dream Academy casting director) knew what she was doing. Arguably, all 20 of those girls truly were good options for the group talent wise. But suddenly, even with undeniable success, they choose to change directors to a more public facing one. I know Kerrie Mailey is a business woman and there isnt anything wrong with wanting to grow the business you've created, but it is ultimately so disappointing to see someone who clearly has alterior (personal) motives, play with people's hopes and dreams. She makes sure her face and name are on every casting oppurtinity, while Michelle was really in it to find the right fits. It was apparent in Santos Bravos that she is corrupt with her favortism issues, and now she continues to use Hybe to gain polularity for herself and her studio.
On top of that, her methods clearly didnt work. They had to rebrand their entire audition campaign due to her inability to cast correctly. Damian seems to have a good heart and actually wants to find the right castings, but still... it is all just so dissappointing. This companies resources and professional expertise could be utilized so much better if the casting team stayed internal. A bad start for this group, and bad direction for the company. I am sure it will still be good, but she's weighing them down and needs to be cut loose for someone who has the right focus and morals!
