Possible bed bugs in nyc? Feeling anxious and not sure what steps to take
I’ve recently noticed a couple bug bites on my body, and I honestly can’t tell whether they’re bed bug bites or just normal bug bites since everyone seems to react differently.
I didn’t want to take any chances, so I inspected my bed and surrounding area pretty thoroughly. My mattress is fully enclosed in a waterproof/bed bug cover, and I checked the seams, sheets, comforter, pillows, bed frame, and nearby areas. I didn’t notice any bugs, shells, fecal spots, or other obvious signs of bed bugs.
That said, I’m still feeling paranoid because the bites are making me anxious. I already messaged my super and asked if an exterminator could come inspect the apartment for bed bugs or any other possible infestation.
This is my first time dealing with something like this, so I’m honestly not sure what the best next steps are while waiting. Is there anything else I should be checking for or doing in the meantime? Would really appreciate any advice or reassurance.
