WiFi Set-Up and Extension?

Hi all,

We recently bought a house which has an estimated internal floor space of 2,381 Sq Ft with a garden length estimated to be circa 140 feet long.

We presently have a fibre optic connection, and a BT WiFi box set-up in the sitting room. These are shown as blue and cyan dots respectively on the uploaded floorplan.

In addition, we also have three OpenReach telephone line connections within the Sitting Room, Study/Bedroom 5 and on the upper level, Bedroom 3. These are shown as red dots on the floorplan. I believe these are all working, despite the one in Bedroom 3 likely being 25+ years old.

We'd like to try and extend our WiFi signal so that it covers all of the house. At present, it only goes so far as the kitchen and a part of bedrooms 2 and 3. We'd also like to try and extend this further if possible, so that we can at least get some sort of workable signal within 75ft of the back garden, so that we can work in the garden during the summer without any interference with our signal.

I have read around, and can see a lot of people are heavily against using WiFi extenders (due to bandwith issues) and the preference would be to either set up ethernet ports or have a mesh system.

Given the location of the telephone ports, would it make sense to try and run a WiFi router through each of these, if I can get them working from the same system? Or are there much more cost-effective and generally better ways to achieve what we're trying to (if that's even possible)? As a last resort, we'd be happy if we could get a strong signal in the Play Room, if nothing else (as we'll be using that as an additional study!).

Many thanks in advance for any help that you can give!

Title Review and Reporting in England and Wales?

Hi all,

I've been tasked with finding the best software solution to undertake property title reviews for a city firm in England, with a view to preparing:

  1. Initial draft reports based on CLLS Certificate of Title or our own internal reporting precedents;

  2. Proposed initial amendments to a third party law firm's draft CLLS Certificate of Title, which would raise any relevant enquiries and point out any typographical errors/points for clarification;

  3. Proposed Initial draft Overview Report, based on the firm's own internal reporting precedent.

The idea is that we are able to drag and drop any relevant documents into the system, with the system/playbook then working out what needs to be prepared from those documents, and then doing so.

Has anyone worked on and implemented something similar? My initial thought had been to possibly set up an agent via Claude, but wanted to see what anyone's experience had been?

Public Speaking Courses?

Hi all,

I'm now getting to a stage in my career, where I am having to provide more external presentations and internal speaking engagements.

I am Autistic, so have spent the majority of my life of deeply analysing social cues, and masking to fit in. Whilst I'm great socially in both personal and professional settings, I find that my brain works far too quickly for my mouth when speaking to 10 or people.

I know people will automatically suggest that speaking in public is a skills honed by repetition. However, I find that I would learn best by someone teaching me how to approach it in the first place, given I'm at a complete loss.

I wondered if anyone had attended any external public speaking courses, and whether you got any benefit out of attending one? Do you have any recommendations (ideally in London or Berkshire/Buckinghamshire)?

I've considered attending my local Toastmasters' club, but form my initial observations, I'm not convinced it will be for me.

Many thanks in advance!

Confidential Whiteboard Recommendations?

Hi all,

I need to buy a whiteboard that I can install against a wall, but which can be easily removed if I need to have it at my desk.

It needs to be a confidential whiteboard (e.g., a whiteboard I can close up at night), owing to the fact that I need to work with sensitive client documents and matters.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Many thanks in advance!

Shower Conversion?

Hi all,

We've recently purchased a house, which has a Aqualisa 200mm thin metal round shower head in the main bathroom.

From time to time, we'd like to temporarily replace the Aqualisa shower head with a handheld shower head, which would be linked to a standard size shower hose (something similar to this), so that can wash our very young son's hair (rather than waterboard him under the current shower head!).

Unfortunately, the shower hose doesn't connect onto the shower arm. Would anyone be able to give me a steer on what connection/valve that I would need to buy, in order to connect the two together?

Many thanks in advance!
