Battery Usage

Edit: thanks! I have so much to learn about EV before I buy.

Maybe the easiest or most ignorant question of the day.

I don’t typically drive a lot. I am semi retired fixing to be retired and so my question is about the battery. If you have a vehicle that just sits in the driveway or sits under a carport maybe a garage do you leave it plugged in in order to maintain battery power so that when you are ready to go somewhere it’s already charged? Or is it more like an alkaline battery if you will for comparison, that once it’s charged up it stays charged for the most part unless you start using it? I’m just curious I mean even old NCAT batteries which I know we’ve come a long long way from that technology but they seemed like they worked better if you just left them charging. Thanks for the insight.

Buy One Tone and Wrap? What about system Updates?

With the 27's coming out, I'm sure the dealers will be anxious to get rid of the remaining 25's. But, at least in my area, all I'm seeing are the monotone 1 color style.

For those of you who have Wrapped yours, are you happy with the wraps x amount of time later?

It looks like, from searching wraps on this thread, that you can indeed make a monotone into a two tone, or more, so I s/b able to snap up a pretty good deal and then, what, do you have the dealer wrap it? Or is this a paint job shop's job? (I'm NOT going to be able to do it myself)

I'm hoping to pull the trigger on one this fall - planning to move to an area w/o a VW dealer, and was warned about the recall/updates, etc. How true is this? Would a new on the lot from a dealer have all of the updates already plugged in? I LOVE these vans, and was super excited to see they came out as an EV! But don't want to be stranded either. :/

That ONE Thing...

I'm curious about the people who moved to the Big Island and followed the advice to "sell everything and just start over."

Or maybe you kept only the sentimental things and a few pieces of solid furniture, leaving most of your household behind.

Now that you've been there for a while...

What's the ONE thing you regret not bringing or buying to bring before you moved?

Not the obvious sentimental stuff. I mean that practical item that made you think, "Why didn't I just put that in the container?"

I've been hearing that patio furniture, for example, can be expensive on Hawaiʻi Island, and the selection is pretty limited.

So if you were already paying for a container and had extra space to fill, what would you bring if you could do the move all over again?

I'd love to hear your biggest "I wish I had..." item. Looks like I'll have some extra space in my container and I may as well be sure to take advantage of the space and not regret the opportunity.

Representative Referrals?

I have hit a wall with Pasha and Island Pet Movers. I sent an email to the one posted on the website but can not seem to get replies. Did anyone who has recently moved from mainland to BI get a rep name and contact info?

Pasha came highly recommended yet they canned a reply saying they do not ship household goods - and referred others? I rec’d a partial quote for my pets, and no response to my reply asking for the rest?

Does ANY one use direct communication anymore?

Thanks for any input.

And ps - yes i have done my research, I have family there, I am not coming for anyone’s job or affordable home. This is just a retiring land steward escaping the rat race to live my next chapter in a more gentle climate among extended family. Tyia
