Just recently received the ID Buzz SWB in UK. Excited but a bit overwhelmed by the techiness. What are some key features or things I should know?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Looking at a 1st edition for $64,000. Know the new one is coming. Should I wait?
I took a 4motion model for a test drive yesterday. It mostly verified everything people are saying about the capacitive buttons and over reliance on the menu system.
But what surprised me was the turning radius. Online it is claimed to be almost 44 feet. That basically means you can turn around on a 4 lane highway if you go from outside lane to outside lane. Attempting it from the left hand turn lane put me in a surprise multi step turn in traffic.
I guess having the wheels push so close to the ends really hurts it.
Has this been an issue for anyone else?
I’ve been on single lane streets that dead end and require multi step turns in my Subaru. I’m not sure that would be possible in this van. I guess you just back up the length of the street and hope the intersection isnt too busy.
Are there other adjustments folks have had to make in order to make it work?
I also couldn’t get parking assist to recognize the parking spots in the dealership parking lot. I guess the lines were not contrasting enough.
Does anyone know if the manoeuvre Braking/auto braking in reverse is disabled when you're connected to hitch electrics?
I am using a hitch tray/carrier and it keeps setting off the braking even thought there's nothing behind. Considering adding trailer lights to the tray, partly so I can stack taller and block the lights, but if it stops the braking it's a win-win.
I live in an area that frequently has poor outdoor air quality. The Air Care, cabin air filter, seems to always be off by default. I don't see a way to change that. It would be nice if it was always on. Any thoughts so I don't need to turn it on every time I drive?
I purchased my Pro S id.buzz May 9th at a dealership about an hour away from my home in Asheville, NC ( Wallace VW in Johnson City, TN). I got a crazy deal on it (41k) and was super happy to drive away with the van even though there was a "you need to have inspection completed" light on. They said they couldn't do anything about due to it being on a Saturday and the service department just had oil change techs.
No issues whatsoever on the drive back, but the next day I had the "There is an issue with your electrical system" alert, along with the inspection notification. I made an appointment with the dealer here in town, and it's been with them ever since! ETA on the repair is now Wednesday or Thursday of NEXT week due to the parts they need (something something 12 volt battery harness something) taking over a week to arrive after they spent a week figuring out what the issue was.
Has anyone else experienced delays Pro this bad getting service on their van? I realize there were several red flags here that I happily looked past due to getting such a great deal on the vehicle but we are solidly entering lemon law territory in NC. I realize the vehicle is new and parts depots are most likely not super deep with something they've sold for a year, but this experience has been a little disheartening and I'm a little freaked out should something else happen to the vehicle. Is this a VW service issue, or just growing pains from a brand new model?
Regardless just looking forward to having it back as the van is frickin awesome and I can't wait to drive it around again. The dealership lent me a Taos which is not quite the same experience.
Loving the ID Buzz. As I’m getting to learn and experience life with it, a couple of things have come to mind:
It would be awesome if they had designed the 3rd seats to face either forward or face out towards the back. We got a chance to take it out to the beach, and back it towards the ocean. I would’ve loved the chance to flip the 3rd seats around to face out. Eitherway, we folded down both back rows, laid out a thick blanket, opened one of the sliding doors…enjoying the breeze and sounds.
AC Outlet (this put a smile on my face, electric cooler time)
Let the radio play, with the vehicle off, for as long as we want.
One Pedal
Attachment to repurpose floor anchors when removing the 3rd row. I would like to have an attachment so it can secure E-scooters.
These are not complaints, just little wishes for this fun little car!
Edit
Oh question, so with the front and rear rims being a different size, there’s no need to rotate these tires?
I noticed on the roof, if you don’t have a roof rack, you have 6 exposed bolts. I’m sure they are treated bolts to prevent corrosion but what kinda cover caps could I get?
Windshield Sunshade recommendations?
My Buzz is pretty new and I don't remember this in the test drives, but dry steering makes a lot of groaning like an old car. Is that normal? Should I maybe take it in to get checked on?
It's an 4motion model btw.
I have two longboards and I can fit them inside but ideally I want to place them on the roof. My concern is how badly it will affect battery range. Curious if there are surfers here using the ID.Buzz.
My family size is 6 and i own a hyundai palisade from 2020. Fully paid off and under 50000 miles. No issues in it at all. I really want the idbuzz but idk if i should trade in my fully paid car. My biggest issue with the buzz was the range, i drive 2 round trip daily for work and i wanted white top with red bottom. Both seem to be getting address. What yall think? Money is always tight with growing kids lol. Just is this really a smart move?
Edit: i drive 41 miles to work on the way home i pick up my kids from daycare which is right off the freeway so maybe 50 miles on way back.
Edit: no solar on home, my home is new so i imagine adding aby charger wouldnt be to crazy.
Edit: i live in tennesse so we get a extra charge when we register hybird and electric vehicals.
Hi everyone, my family has decided to buy the ID BUZZ and now they are asking me to find out if there is a way to activate all the features in the car software for free or much cheaper than form the factory.
If anyone has any idea how please tell me.
Hi folks! Newbie here, looking at an ID.Buzz for our family, and have a question about the third row seats.
This article here noted some difficulty with successfully securing some booster seats in the third row. They noted that the headrests in the third row, which protrude forward from the seat back, can’t be raised high enough to not interfere with the car seat sitting flush.

Similar issue to this I’d imagine:
Can 2024 GLS third row headrests be removed?
I’ve searched the forums and web and learned about the hidden buttons to successfully release and remove the front row (and second row?) headrests:

Can anyone confirm if the third row headrests can be removed? In the same manner?
Thanks in advance!
Is there a way to block touch reaction from the center screen so I can clean it?
So, last weekend we finally got to try hauling our caravan with the Buzz. I was especially curious about the range, since we have a relatively small caravan. Our buzz is rated to pull 1600kg (LWB GTX), with our caravan weighing 1500kg when fully loaded. I consistently drive 90 km/h.
We started our trip with 90% charge near Ski, close to Oslo, Norway. We drove down to Grebbestad in Sweden, which was about 150km away. It was raining all the time, but little headwind. The trip itself was very smooth, with both the Buzz and caravan being very stable and nice to drive, especially with the driving assistent, and the consumption was around 36kW/100km, which I thought was on the high side. We were actually going to continue our trip further south, but had 16% charge left near Grebbestad. At this point we decided to charge but made the fatal mistake of not planning ourself where we were going to charge, so got sent to some shoppingmall where we had to disconnect the caravan and fight for a spot, which wasn't great. It was then that we decided on not driving much further.
On the way back we started our trip with just over 90% charge again but no rain. We also turned down the heat a little bit, from 20 to 17 degree celcius, which seemed to affect the consumption and range dramatically, reaching home with about 35% charge left with a consumption of just 30kW/100km. So I think that I could have driven about 200km before absolutely having to charge, possible even a little further.
So we learned many things this trip, and hope to be better prepared for when we go on holiday inside Norway this summer.

Purchased just yesterday. Had to wait for today to post a picture without family in it. My 9 year old named it Vanzilla.
Got my new Buzz delivered and fit into my garage. Never ordered a vehicle delivery but my delivery company made it super simple.
Hey everyone, for those who already own an ID. Buzz: how many miles/km have you put on it, how long have you had it, and how is the battery holding up so far? Any noticeable degradation or range drop after real-world use? Thanks in advance.
Also just a general statement, but Arkansas is a deeply red state so I don't want to be too bold
The OEMs suck. What are people using for replacement front wipers? Are people still downsizing from the OEM 30" blades to a readily available 28" blade? Bosch AP28U Aerotwin? Bosch 28AOE Icon? Are both front blades identical or do I need a 28AOE and 28BOE?
