Fitbit air & Galaxy Watch 6 - avoid doubling steps/workouts/cals burned etc?

I have a Galaxy Watch 6 and am thinking about getting the fitbit air. Is there a way to wear both sometimes, and wear one or the other at other times and avoid doubling step-count, workout time, calories burned, etc?

From what I've read a potential solution is through health connect, but wanted to see if anyone else has been able to do something like this successfully. Thanks for any ideas/solutions

Any way to be notified when there's an update?

Has anyone found a way to be notified when there's an update? I'd rather not get on to ride and have to wait over an hour (like last week) to download an update. Thanks for any ideas
