Contacted my congressman today
After about 80 days since filing my return, I decided enough is enough. I submitted Mar. 1. Verified my identity on 3/27. On 4/27 my transcript updated that a CP05 was issued- future date of 5/18 (today). So I waited patiently to see what news this magical date might bring.
Today I awoke to an auto-email sent at 5:00 am (so, automated) that had said I had a notice. And it said nothing, just the same “wait” message. Didn’t ask for anything. Just refund on hold while they review. Again. Still. So why wait 3 weeks to send this? That makes no sense.
My spouse and I completed our privacy form with the congressman’s office. So we wait. Interestingly, they have a “team” to work with the IRS. How sad is it that a congressman needs a team for this?
I’ll keep this thread posted on what happens next.
