I love clients like this...

So i have an estate plan signing meeting with a couole. As I lead them to the room, I notice the husband is carrying a plastic grocery bag with some Tupperware in it. We sit down start chatting and the wife says "we brought this for the meeting. The husband proceeds to pull out the Tupperware and real forks. Husband says Costco pumpkin pie and slides a piece to me. He did apologize for no whipped cream. Going through the docs and noshing on Costco pumpkin pie.

Opinion from the solos, What are you wearing to the office?

I am a true solo, the only one in my office, no employees (my asst' started law school), I do the filing, mop the floors, change the TP. I have no one scheduled today, no type of appearance in Court, just doing paperwork/drafting. I decided to wear shorts a concert tee.

What are you wearing in this case. Just curious, I actually struggled in deciding what to wear.

Turning over files to another attorney

My representation was just "terminated", first time this has happened. I will say not due to anything I did. The new executor wants her own attorney. Never mind we are just waiting for the SOL to pass so we can close the estate. Anywhoo.... I do plan on providing an invoice to the estate for all work done up to this point. Thoughts on billing time to the estate for prepping the file for turnover.

Edit: I will add that I was led to believe that I would remain as the attorney.

Duck rotation "poll"

So if you look at an earlier post of mine, think Monty Python gag. I need to rotate the duck on my scales of justice.

Alumni association got these as a gift when we graduated. It spent 16 years as a dust collection mechanism.

Normally I'm very aware of blurring things out🤦‍♂️

The alumni association gave us these as a graduation gift. It spent the last 16 years as a dust collector. How did I not think of this before.
