Would you go back?

Hey all. I hope you're well? I just wanted to get your thoughts on life with a piece. I'm sorry in advance that I'm over sharing.

I'm currently in my late twenties, UK, Norwood 3. My dad became a Norwood 5, as did his dad. Maternal sides hair are all Norwood 0.

The fear of medication has caused me to do nothing about my hair for 5 years. Because I have OCD Depression and Mild/moderate intimate issues, likely psychosomatic.

I decided to try a Hairpiece, then try being bald, and then reflect on whether to risk medication. But in practice, I'm finding it really difficult to assess whether I could live like this. I had it in my mind that I could wear a Hairpiece for the apps, meet someone, then when they're used to me, shave it off. Kinda getting over that initial hurdle of meeting someone. But I feel I look so bad without hair, I worry it's just not realistic. I'm currently dating now, but everyone has seen me before I tried this with my natural hair. With hair, my fringe, I'd say I'm a solid 6, I don't struggle to get matches, I've had luck in person. But I'm not melting everyone I see. Without hair, I feel hideous.

Trouble is, I absolutely detest having it on my head. Daily wear helps, but lying in bed, especially with a significant other, feeling what feels like a hat on my scalp just feels awful and humiliating to remove.

So I suppose my question is, especially for long time wearers. How do you find it? If you could take the risk of medication to save your hair, would you? Would you not? Do you plan to wear it forever?

Any and all advice/discussions/suggestions are welcome. Because to tell the truth, this experiment I have begun has been destroying my mental health. (And yes, I've been in therapy for a while now hahaha)

Again, I'm sorry for over sharing, but I'd really appreciate some advice here.

Best base for comfort?

Hey all, just wanna say thanks for the help so far.

Thinking about a second system, right now I have Poly with a lace hairline.

I wear my fringe down as I have for years, I quite like this to save the faff with an exposed hairline.

The itch just got too much with a full poly, I switched to daily wear and it's massively helped with that, and also with the claustrophobia of not being able to get it off when I need to.

However, I'd like to try a piece that I can tolerate on my head for longer periods (especially overnight when I have company, you know?) But with the flexibility to switch back to daily wear when needed.

So, what's your experiences chaps and chapettes?

I'm thinking Lace with a poly perimeter as I prefer tape due to having quite a lot of bio hair beneath.

But maybe a full lace is still okay with tape and daily wear?

Any recommendations on tape for 3-4 day wear is also appreciated. Currently trialling 1522.

Much love all.

Hybrid Bases for daily wear

Hola all.

I currently have full poly and had to switch to daily wear with Got2Bglue Hairspray because the itch was absolutely nuts.

I was wondering, could I do daily wear or almost daily wear with tapes with a hybrid system?

Do the Poly sides get as itchy as a full poly base? Allowing me to wear it overnight if needed?

If I went full lace, can you do daily wear with that? If so, how?

Any recommendations would be v much appreciated

I know this is a bit weird. But when I'm trying to work, relax or get "intimate", I can't really forget that it's there.

It kinda feels like a little hat in a way. I've always hated things on my head. I can never seem to forget they're there and this doesn't seem to different sadly.

When I'm outside, walking, doing something, it's not too bad. But when I go to sit down I just want to rip the thing off.

Does anyone else feel like this? What is your experience? Are you always aware of the sensation? Or the itch? Or do you never ever think about it?

Beginning to look like a bit of a deal breaker for me... It feels like my brain doesn't work with it on hahaha

Hola all, I'm just over a week into my first system. After an initial panic it, seems nobody has noticed I'm wearing one which is great! I got it in a style close to my normals style.

However, I'm on my second bond now, currently Walker Ultra hold tape with a poly base and lace front.

I just wanted to ask. Is there a point where the itch just stops? Like wearing braces you just eventually forget them? Is that a thing?

I ask because I damn near scratched my head off this morning with the most severe itching I've ever had. And although it massively decreased throughout the day, I still couldn't really focus enough to do any work until the afternoon because the sensation of something warm and slightly itchy on my head was just so, so distracting.

All day I was fantasizing about ripping it off and going for the longest scalp massage!

Is this something you just have to accept as a part of it, or does it just go?
