When did you know you wanted to have kids with your partner?
I (30F) been with my partner (40M) for 2.5 years. We have lightly talked about children and I have always been on the fence about it. He’s been pretty clear he wants kids but it wavers from time to time. We got into a deeper convo about it today and it was mostly me sharing my fears about motherhood. It lead to me asking him if he sees him self have kids with me and his response was “I don’t know”. I asked him to explain why he felt like he doesn’t know and he had nothing to say. I’m sad and I’m confused. My not wanting children has never circled back to me not wanting kids specifically with him it’s just an overall fear of motherhood which I’m very clear about. I just feel like 2.5 years in, at his age, this is something he should know by now. I don’t want to waste my time with someone who isn’t sure about me. Am I being dramatic? Is 2.5 years not long enough to have this answer from your partner?
