Layed off they want them to Train their replacement

So an old team of mine (10+ employees) was RIF’d yesterday because the bank is offshoring the work to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and India. But what really gets me is they are expected to train the people who are literally taking over their jobs. The AUDACITY!!!! 😭 Like, do they really have to?! Because I would be SICK.

BA replacing the workforce in US

Over the past seven months, I’ve watched my manager and team leads travel to Argentina to train an entirely new team. They’ve hired 16 people to learn the same job our team currently does, while our current team consists of just 15 people.

Once that team is fully trained and up to speed, it’s obviously what that means for us!!

I genuinely hate the politics behind these decisions. It’s difficult to understand why a company would invest in building an entirely new team in another country instead of retaining and investing in the employees who are already successfully doing the work.

RIFs are near 🙃
