She could have just given Carmella a dummy signed letter to make her go away. In case Carmella had the gall to include it in Meadow's application package, Joan could have told her admissions office friends to ignore it and just reject Meadow. Carmella would have been none the wiser, since Columbia has like a 10% acceptance rate giving Joan plausible deniability.

Despite little screen time together, I think they have one of the best relationships in the show. Sure Mikey is a little sarcastic with her at times, but she gives it right back to him. I hope she turned out ok after Mikey went out jogging that time, whatever happened there.

It's disrespectful and embarrassing. I don't like that kind of playing.
