Noise over bumps that Tesla mechanics can’t locate??
Recently I noticed that whenever I go over most speed bumps, my 2024 M3 Standard makes a fairly loud creaking noise from what sounds like the front of it. I took it to Tesla and they couldn’t replicate it apparently, and there is no speed bumps near the shop for them to use.
Tesla told me that my right front and rear hubs needed to be replaced, and that’s all they found. After they replaced them and I picked it up, I noticed the noise was still 100% there.
I made another appointment, this time with a video of what’s happening (the last tech asked if I had one, so I came prepared this time), and I just picked it up for the second time, with the repair notes saying this:
“Repair Notes: Test drove vehicle with customer and could not duplicate noise concern.
Test drove vehicle again and stll could not duplicate noise. Did drive over speed bump in shop at different speeds and still no noise
Visually inspected vehicle and did find the lower front lateral links with play and the bushings were tom. Replaced links and preformed an alignment. Drove vehicle again and still could not get noise to happen.”
Now that I got it back again, it is STILL making the same exact noise. Am I going crazy here and this sound is normal, or is Tesla just blind/deaf?
This is a leased M3 and I don’t want to be charged for anything when I return it in a little over a year.
TL;DR I’ve gone to the Tesla mechanic twice for this noise and they claim they don’t hear it and are saying nothing is wrong or they don’t see anything that could be making this creaking noise. What could it be?
