Feel like I have no direction….
Hello everyone. I am a recent Feb passer and I guess I’m just looking to vent/get advice.
I worked as a legal assistant in crim defense/PI during the day and did law school at night (IFYKYK!!!!). Took off two months to study for the bar, passed, and am currently applying to jobs. I feel like my law school experience burned me out and fried my brain so bad. I’m struggling to remember why I chose this field.
To be honest, I am a first gen lawyer and I had no idea how much work this field was going to be. Despite having worked in law since undergrad in assistant capacities, it didn’t occur to me how stressful this field is. I am not ok with slaving away long hours or on weekends. I am a bit concerned b/c I struggle with feeling confident in my abilities and haven’t heard back from any jobs.
I would love to hear advice in how you felt in this position, or any insight into jobs to could look into. I’m looking for a gov position/GC or something that is 9-5 ish. ideally remote, hybrid is OK. I don't think I want to be in court that much tbh. I just feel so lost.
