120 Film vs. 100MP Digital — My Medium Format Trip to South Korea (Hasselblad 500C/M & X2D II)
Spent some time traveling through South Korea recently and decided to pack a rather heavy two-camera setup: my trusty classic Hasselblad 500C/M and the modern Hasselblad X2DII.
I wanted to see how the two systems complemented each other without trying to force them to match in post.
It was an incredible experience contrasting the historic spaces of Gyeongju and the ultra-modern architecture of Seoul using two entirely different eras of the same camera system.
The Gear:
Analog: Hasselblad 500C/M
Digital: Hasselblad X2DII
Film Stocks: Kodak Gold 200
Particularly loved shooting the iconic solitary magnolia at the Gyeongju Tumuli on both systems at different times of the day (included both shots here back-to-back!).
Happy to answer any questions about workflow, traveling with this much gear, or the specific lenses used for either setup!
