[spoilers, chapter 30] Chapter breakdown/transcript for the visually impaired

#Important: please read this before proceeding

As you may or may not know, I used to make weekly transcripts for Chainsaw Man chapters, prior to the series finale, and this is the thirtieth of what I refer to as "legacy transcripts". Currently, as of writing this, I have transcribed chapters 1-30, as well as chapters from 153 onwards, and an archive containing links to them can be found here. These legacy transcripts are to transcribe the 152 chapters preceding chapter 153. Even though these chapters have been available for quite some time, I will be writing as if they are brand new in order to preserve the reading experience for first-time readers. Anyway, that's all I wanted to say in regards to this topic.

Have you ever had trouble processing or interpreting the manga's art in some way, shape, or form? Apparently, it's not that uncommon in the community, as I've seen quite a few people express this, and hopefully I can alleviate that to some extent with posts like this going forward. These posts aren't intended as a replacement for the chapters; rather, they're intended as a page-by-page point of reference and a log of details that you can hopefully reference as you read or reread the manga. Without further ado:

p1-5: As the old man releases his grip, Denji and Power's bodies fall limply to the ground; opening his flask, the old man takes a swig while Denji and Power panic, having realized that they're paralyzed. Speaking to the duo, the old man bluntly states that—since their bones and muscles are the same as any human's—they can't move with a snapped neck; despite that, the old man concedes that the duo has one big difference that sets them apart from humans as he reaches into his trenchcoat. Drooling in excitement, Power claims to smell blood and, on cue, the old man reveals a blood bag; opening it, he pours blood into the duo's open mouths and says that, unlike humans, they heal from drinking blood. Fully restored, Denji and Power groan in pain and annoyance as they help each other stand up; wiping his mouth, Denji curses and asks the old man what his problem is. After taking a big gulp from his flask, the old man reminds them that Makima asked him to train them since the gun devil is after Denji's heart and, as he puts it, Denji is just "a small fry who can be crushed in no time flat". Annoyed, Power demands to know why the old man attacked them. Unphased, the old man continues, informing the duo that, even though he's trained tons of humans, he's never tried to train devils; recognizing it as unfamiliar territory, he says that he had to consider how to train them until an idea came to his "alcohol-addled brain". Speaking plainly, the old man boasts that, because he's the strongest devil hunter, only a powerful devil would be able to take him down; as such, he just has to keep hunting Denji and Power until they can defeat him and become the "powerhouse" devils he's looking for. Turning to face each other, concerned, Denji and Power agree that the old man has lost his mind. Stepping towards the duo, the old man readies himself to hunt them again; as he reaches into his trenchcoat, Denji complains that—drunk old man or not—they'll get arrested if they kill him. Undeterred by this risk, Power conjures a hammer from her blood and tosses it to Denji; bracing themselves for the old man's attacks, the duo prepare to defend themselves.

p6-10: Striking first, Denji swings his hammer at the old man, aiming for his head, but the old man crouches down to dodge it, shocking Denji; revealing a knife, he grabs Denji and rapidly stabs him in the back numerous times. As he stands up and faces Power, who is approaching with another freshly conjured hammer, the old man slams his knife up through Denji's jaw, penetrating all the way through his skull. Before Power has a chance to swing her hammer, the old man quickly withdraws his knife from Denji and slashes through her neck. As Denji's corpse falls lifelessly to the ground with a thud, Power wraps her hands around her throat and begins choking on her own blood. Reviewing the situation, the old man notes that Denji is truly immortal, meaning blood can heal him even after death, while Power is only semi-immortal. Moving on, he notes that they both have the mindset required to "bash a person's head in" without hesitation; furthermore, he notes that neither of them have human rights. Thinking back to his childhood, the old man states that, due to his immense strength, he would always break his toys in no time and that he's always longed for some "unbreakable toys"; having seemingly fulfilled that desire, the old man turns to Denji and Power and declares that he'll turn them into "the baddest of badasses". Lying next to Denji's corpse, trying to keep herself alive, Power groans in misery. Back at the hospital, Aki forms Fox's hand sign and tries to summon it by calling out "Kon", but nothing happens. Cocking his head to the side, Kurose states that because Aki used the fox devil's power recklessly and got on its bad side, the devil won't answer his call anymore; hearing this, Aki seems upset. Pushing the subject, Kurose then points out Aki's curse devil katana and asks how many more times he can use it; catching on to Kurose's subtext, Aki states that he understands what the duo meant by "training", pleasing Kurose. Speaking up, Tendo explains that they're here to do "career coaching" for the human members of the special division. Being honest with Aki, Tendo says they expected him to "call it quits" after the recent incident, especially since one of Aki's colleagues did resign. Putting his hand on his chin, Kurose stresses that if Aki intends to keep working for public safety, he needs to be significantly more prepared, which confuses Aki.

p11-19: Explaining what Kurose means, Tendo states that Aki would have to make a contract with a stronger devil to contribute to the special division; putting the choice in his hands, she asks Aki if he'll retire and enjoy what lifespan he has left, or if he'll "stay on and see hell". Thinking about it for a moment, Aki questions how he could possibly quit when the ones responsible for killing his family and Himeno are still out there. Tendo turns to face Kurose, who says that he understands Aki's desire to continue; turning to leave, Kurose states that it's too late to continue, but that they'll return tomorrow with all the necessary paperwork for Aki to fill out. As Aki looks away, Kurose states that "what their senior in Kyoto" told them was true, drawing Aki's attention once again; continuing, Kurose explains that their senior told them to be careful, because "everybody in the special division is insane". Turning away, Kurose gives Aki what he believes is advice; he says Aki should take a "more objective look at himself", which Aki begins to ponder. Opening the door, Kurose stops and relays one last thing to Aki: there's a woman outside the room, waiting to see him. As the duo leaves, they welcome the woman in, telling her to "take her time"; turning to face her, Aki is shocked by what he sees, but we don't know why. As they talk, we pull away, unable to hear them or get a clear look at his visitor. Returning to the graveyard, it is now nighttime. As the old man walks away, he tells the duo he's heading home to sleep and that he'll pick them up at their place tomorrow. Denji and Power don't respond; instead, they look haggard and seem to be dissociating. As Power leans on Denji, he suddenly falls to the ground and begins making strange sounds; exclaiming that his brain broke again, Power begins repeatedly punching Denji in the face while screaming for him to get better. Gasping as he sits up, finally conscious, Denji bleeds from his nose and asks Power how many times he's died today; hesitantly, Power exclaims it was at least twenty times, but she admits she can't be sure since most of the time Denji died, she was already unconscious. As the duo collect themselves and begin their long trek home, they commiserate over their mutual hatred of the old man, with Power saying that he's too strong, and Denji saying that continuing under his tutelage will only make them unhappy; on this, Denji is particularly depressed, since he’s already worked so hard to secure his happiness. Probing him, Power asks if they should try to flee together, but Denji turns her down, pointing out that public safety would hunt them down as devils if they tried. Rage building inside him, Denji curses the old man for treating them like his "toys" before telling Power that he's starting to get really mad. Just then, Power exclaims that she's "got it", confusing Denji; clarifying, she states that she knows how to beat him. Tapping her forehead with her index finger, she explains her plan: the old man is powerful, but "alcohol has rotted his brain"; as such, she suggests they battle him using their wits. Rubbing his nose, Denji excitedly agrees with Power, stating that he's also been thinking of doing that lately; in particular, he thinks it'd be really cool if he could battle like "one of those brainy characters in manga and stuff". Happily resting her hands on her hips, Power triumphantly states that they'll "murder him with their intellect"; excitedly stretching, Denji proclaims that he’s starting to feel smarter already.

And that's that. Sorry for the delays and a late-night upload. As always, the chapter transcript archive can be found here. There is no "break week" for legacy chapters, since they're already all available, but I do plan to post transcripts every Tuesday, now that the series has ended. Until then, I hope this transcript can help anyone who wants or needs it.

[spoilers, chapter 29] Chapter breakdown/transcript for the visually impaired

#Important: please read this before proceeding

As you may or may not know, I used to make weekly transcripts for Chainsaw Man chapters, prior to the series finale, and this is the twenty-ninth of what I refer to as "legacy transcripts". Currently, as of writing this, I have transcribed chapters 1-29, as well as chapters from 153 onwards, and an archive containing links to them can be found here.

Without further ado:

p1-6 (the first page on Viz is the cover page): In a hospital room, a television displays a news report that public safety devil hunters have engaged in large scale combat in the Nerima ward of Tokyo; next to the television, there is a gift basket of apples, each of which seems to be wrapped in a protective net sleeve, implying that the apples are likely of a high quality. Resting in a hospital bed, Aki stirs from his slumber and turns his head to the side, spotting Denji and Power sitting beside his bed, reading a manga; while they read, Denji begins eating one of the apples. Upset, Power demands that Denji give her the apple he's eating, but he snaps back that he's claimed all of the apples; in the hallway, a nurse and a patient in a wheelchair stop and stare at the door to Aki's room, having overheard the argument. Chastising her, Denji angrily states that "jerks who ran away from the enemy" don't get apples; insulted, Power denies that she fled, insisting instead that she simply left because she was hungry. As the duo bicker, with Denji calling Power a liar and a coward, Aki sits up in his bed; speaking up, he asks the duo if there were any other survivors from division four, halting their argument. Answering his question, Denji tells Aki that Kobeni and Madoka, whom he refers to as "the guy with the glasses", survived, but that Madoka quit public safety. Stunned by the brevity of this list, Aki quietly turns his head towards the window, hiding his face as he processes this information; unsure what else to say, Denji stares at Aki, obliviously missing that Power stole the apple he was eating. Breaking the silence, Denji and Power stand up and head for the door. Denji tells Aki that Makima called for him and Power, so they have to go; Power adds on that they only stopped by to eat his get-well fruit. Unmoving, Aki continues to face away from the duo as he looks out the window; seemingly concerned for him, as Denji leaves, he decides to leave Aki one of the apples, claiming to do so out of kindness. As the door closes, Aki turns away from the window and reaches down off his bed to retrieve his katana. Unsheathing it slightly, Aki speaks to the curse devil, asking it how much of his natural lifespan he has left; the curse devil bluntly informs Aki he only has two years left, much to his dismay. Reaching for his cigarettes, Aki takes one and puts it in his lips; bringing his lighter to the tip of the cigarette, he strikes the wheel a few times, and eventually the lighter produces a flame.

p7-12: Seeing the lighter's flame, Aki remembers Himeno and all the times she lit his cigarettes; shocked, the cigarette falls from his lips as he opens his mouth. Slowly reaching down to get it, as soon as Aki's fingers wrap around the cigarette, his resolve breaks, giving way to grief; gripping the sheets, Aki bursts into tears and curls into himself as he mourns the loss of Himeno. Outside his room, Denji grabs the door's handle but hesitates when he hears the sounds of sobbing; dejected, Denji thinks to himself that he only came back to retrieve his manga, but now that Aki is crying, it'd be too awkward. Turning to leave, Denji continues his internal monologue, stating that he understands why Aki is crying, and that it makes sense; after all, as Denji puts it, "a bunch of his work pals bit it", and "his buddy Himeno is dead too". Thinking this, Denji freezes as he comes to a realization; squatting down, he thinks of Himeno, but despite his memories, he doesn't feel a single pang of loss, nor can he shed even a single tear. Exploring it further, Denji remembers being sad when Pochita died, but Himeno's death evokes nothing, even though she was the first person that ever wanted to be his friend. Troubled by this, Denji wonders if he's "a heartless jerk" and begins running through thought experiments to determine how he'd feel if other people died. Thinking first of Power, and then of Aki, Denji quickly determines he probably wouldn't cry for either of their deaths; as his thoughts turn to Makima, though, he hesitates. As he walks down the hallways towards Power—who has her face pressed up against a vending machine—Denji suspects that Makima's death would depress him for a time, but he can't imagine it lasting for more than three days; in his mind, so long as his quality of life is unchanged—three square meals a day, a good night's rest, and the ability to bathe—he'll be content, since he'll be "living the high life". Freezing, Denji considers an unsettling question: when he lost his literal human heart, did he also lose his more metaphorical human heart and all that came with it?

p13-18: Quickly pushing his crisis of faith to the side, Denji puts on a happy face and excitedly states, aloud, to forget the serious stuff, since "unhappy thoughts will make you unhappy", confusing Power. Pushing Power away from the vending machine, Denji says they should go see Makima; as they leave, Power groans and says "how depressing", implying such a thought makes her unhappy. Outside of Aki's room, a suited figure appears and opens the door, surprising Aki; entering the room uninvited, Tendo excuses their intrusion and Kurose greets Aki, although he doesn't respond. As Kurose bluntly questions if Aki was crying, much to Aki's annoyance, Tendo asks if they should step back out of the room; wiping away his tears, Aki instead asks who they are. Speaking first and skipping introductions, Tendo states that they're from Kyoto and that they've come to Tokyo to train special division four at Makima's request; ignoring Aki's question, Kurose asks if he can eat Aki's apple. Confused, Aki asks what the duo mean by training division four. Elsewhere, in a cemetery lined with cross headstones, Makima informs Denji that the hotel incident and this most recent attack prove that enemy forces are targeting him; continuing, she coldly states that she planned to strengthen division four, but then most of the division "went and died". Unphased by Makima's cold statement, Denji excitedly asks if she's going to train them. Turning him down, Makima states that she's entrusting their training to someone else, since she's about to become incredibly busy; pointing ahead, she states that he'll be training them. Coming to a stop, the group turns to face a white-haired man in a trenchcoat standing in front of the graves with his back to them; from behind, few details can be discerned about him, aside from the fact that he has three ear rings (two on his left ear and one on his right). As Makima attempts to introduce him, the man shushes her and tells her to be quiet before demanding that Denji and Power answer his questions. Firstly, the man asks what the duo felt when they watched their teammates die; Denji states he didn't really feel anything, and Power energetically states that she only thought "they're dead". Secondly, the man asks if the duo want to get revenge for their fallen teammates; Denji disinterestedly states that he doesn't, as revenge is too "dark and brooding", and Power agrees. Finally, the man questions whether the duo is loyal to humanity or to devils; after pausing for a moment, Denji confesses that he's loyal to whichever side takes care of him, and Power confesses that she's loyal only to whichever side is winning. Turning to face them, the man points toward them—revealing a flask in his hand—and states that the duo gets a "perfect score". Now facing them, it's clear that the man is fairly old; he has narrow eyes, thin hair for a mustache and beard, and a grizzly scar that runs from the left corner of his mouth all the way to the edge of his jaw.

p19-21: Understandably confused, Denji and Power question the old man. Only fueling further confusion, the old man cryptically states that "types" like Denji and Power are "few and far between", that they're excellent, and most strangely, that he loves them. Disturbed, Denji and Power stare at the old man, trying to make sense of the situation they have suddenly found themselves in; turning to Denji, Power confesses that she's scared. Addressing Makima, the old man states that she can go, and that their training begins "right here and now". Looking confused in her own right, Makima accepts this and turns to leave, saying that she'll leave him to it; concerned, Denji turns and calls out to Makima, as if begging her to stay or reconsider. Stepping forward, the old man leans over and embraces Denji and Power, draping his arms over Denji's left shoulder and Power's right shoulder respectively, leaving his head in between them. Telling the duo about himself, the old man states that he's a devil hunter with special division one; furthermore, he says it makes him happy to be called "master", so he asks them to address him as such. Finally reaching his interests, the old man states he likes "booze, women, and killing devils"; as he states this, the old man wraps his arms around Denji and Power's necks, startling both of them. Squeezing his arms inward, the duo begin to suffocate in the old man's arms; as they struggle and writhe—kicking, clawing, and grabbing at him in desperation—the old man squeezes harder, and several sickening cracks, snaps, and pops can be heard as their necks finally give in to the pressure.

And that's that. Sorry for the delay and late night upload on this one; as I said previously on the archive page, my internet was out for a period of time yesterday. Regardless, as always, the chapter transcript archive can be found here. There is no "break week" for legacy chapters, since they're already all available, but I do plan to post transcripts every Tuesday, now that the series has ended. Until then, I hope this transcript can help anyone who wants or needs it.

[spoilers, chapter 28] Chapter breakdown/transcript for the visually impaired

#Important: please read this before proceeding

As you may or may not know, I used to make weekly transcripts for Chainsaw Man chapters, prior to the series finale, and this is the twenty-eighth of what I refer to as "legacy transcripts". Currently, as of writing this, I have transcribed chapters 1-28, as well as chapters from 153 onwards, and an archive containing links to them can be found here.

Without further ado:

p1-5: As the previously transformed man looks anxiously at the bloodstains where his minions once stood, Sawatari snaps him back to reality by pointing out that they were likely killed by Makima; thinking pragmatically, she states that they need to escape while they still can. Understanding what he needs to do, the man grabs Denji's body, all the while grumbling that Makima was supposed to be dead. As he looks to the side, however, his eyes catch sight of a figure approaching, and he panics; looking closer, we see that the figure is Kobeni, who seems to be carrying a knife. Flashing back in time, we see what happened when the assassin went to shoot Kobeni and Arai. Taking aim, the elderly woman fires a round through Arai's neck, shocking him. As Arai's blood squirts out of his wound, the assassin moves on to Kobeni, but Arai leaps in front of her and shields her with his body. Firing her gun, the assassin shoots Arai in the head, showering Kobeni with his blood; as she watches Arai fall lifelessly to the ground, Kobeni seems to panic. Back in the present, the man tenses up as Kobeni draws closer and asks if they're the shooters, brandishing her knife. Stepping out from behind the man, Sawatari orders her snake to attack Kobeni with its tail; as she gives her order to the devil, the fingernail on her index finger vanishes, exposing the nail bed underneath. Manifesting beside Sawatari, the snake devil thrusts its tail towards Kobeni; hunched over, Kobeni seems unbothered by the rapidly approaching attack.

p6-11: Leaping into the air, Kobeni effortlessly dodges the snake's tail and begins sprinting along its body; shocked by Kobeni's inhuman movements, the man compares her agility to a monkey as he draws a pistol and takes aim. Before the man can fire, however, Kobeni reaches him and leaps into the air, severing the man's arm with her knife and sending the gun flying. Quickly snatching the pistol out of the air, Kobeni swings her arm around and blindly fires two shots into the man's back; switching targets, she then aims at Sawatari—who has just retrieved a pistol from one gunman's bloodstain—and squeezes the trigger several times, only to discover that she's out of ammo. As Sawatari aims towards her, Kobeni dives behind Denji and blocks her gunfire by using Denji's body as a shield. Stumbling forward as he begins to lose consciousness, the man groans in pain, catching Sawatari's attention; supporting his weight on her back, she opens the van's sliding door and throws the man in, chastizing him and saying that he needs to die inside the van. Peeking out from behind Denji, Kobeni watches as Sawatari hops in the van and speeds away, having decided to retreat. Turning to face Denji, Kobeni meekly apologizes for previously trying to kill him.

p12-19: As Kobeni relaxes and her adrenaline rush subsides, she finally processes everything that happened up until now; entering a nervous breakdown, she giggles uncontrollably at her apology, noting that she can't stop herself from laughing, as if she were high. Flashing back, she remembers looming over Arai's lifeless body after killing the elderly assassin; plagued by survivor's guilt, she focuses on how Arai shielded her, as if she can hardly believe someone would do that for her. As her laughter tapers off and she regains control, Kobeni mutters to herself that she can't keep working for public safety because the job is driving her crazy; as such, she vows to resign when she meets back up with Himeno, unaware that her mentor is already gone. Elsewhere, Makima, Tendo, and Kurose step off a train at the Tokyo station and meet up with Madoka (who was one of the seniors at the welcome party). Makima states that she's relieved to see Madoka alive before asking him for an update on how much of the special division survived; speaking bluntly, Madoka says that all four special divisions were attacked simultaneously and that few of the human members survived. Proposing a theory, Makima states that the gun devil is likely involved, since the shooting specifically targeted the special division. Ignoring her theory, Madoka states that he also has a message from the higher-ups to deliver: due to the newfound personnel shortage, special divisions one, two, and three will merge with and be absorbed into special division four; furthermore, from this point forward, special division four has been placed under Makima's control. Hearing this, Makima smiles, but she doesn't respond. Seemingly growing uncomfortable, Madoka pulls an envelope from his pocket and hands it to Makima, stating that it's for her. Curious, Makima asks what it is, and Madoka bluntly states it's his resignation. Confused, Makima questions why Madoka is quitting, to which he replies that the special division has become sinister and that he feels his only options are to quit or be killed; reading over his resignation, Makima states that she understands. Spurred by his discomfort, Madoka asks Makima if she'll answer one last question for him: how much of this tragedy had she anticipated? Brushing aside his question as she turns around, Makima states that she's not at liberty to discuss public safety's internal affairs with a civilian; nonetheless, she thanks Madoka for his service and promises to pass along his resignation. As Makima leaves, flanked by Tendo and Kurose, Madoka reluctantly turns and leaves as well. Uncomfortable, Tendo and Kurose glance at each other before speaking up, clarifying to Makima that they're not here to join her special division; they're only staying in Tokyo for a week for training purposes before returning to Kyoto. Replying to the duo without turning around, Makima says it's a shame they're not joining her long-term, especially since there are so many great restaurants in Tokyo.

And that's that. Sorry for the extra-long delay on this chapter, and for the radio silence without updates. I've been going through a LOT lately (full details will be available on the transcript archive, since it's a pretty long story) and, as embarrassing as it is to admit, with everything else going on I straight-up forgot about the weekly transcripts while I was focused on getting everything stable. I promise, I won't forget and leave yall hanging like this again; I'm truly sorry for doing so this time and will strive to do better. Regardless, as always, the chapter transcript archive can be found here. There is no "break week" for legacy chapters, since they're already all available, but I do plan to post transcripts every Tuesday, now that the series has ended. Until then, I hope this transcript can help anyone who wants or needs it.

[spoilers, chapter 27] Chapter breakdown/transcript for the visually impaired

#Important: please read this before proceeding

As you may or may not know, I used to make weekly transcripts for Chainsaw Man chapters, prior to the series finale, and this is the twenty-seventh of what I refer to as "legacy transcripts". Currently, as of writing this, I have transcribed chapters 1-27, as well as chapters from 153 onwards, and an archive containing links to them can be found here.

Without further ado:

p1-6: In Kyoto, Makima, Kurose, and Tendo have left the subway and have started traveling on foot. Concerned, Kurose asks if they should head to Tokyo to provide assistance, but Makima doubts they could make it in time; instead, suspecting that their target is Denji, she states that they'll deal with the problem "right here", in Kyoto. Issuing cryptic commands, Makima orders Kurose to borrow thirty convicts from the Ministry of Justice, noting that the prisoners he borrows must be serving "life sentences or worse"; for Tendo, Makima orders her to rent a nearby shrine, particularly one with the highest possible altitude. Grinning as she adjusts her coat, Makima issues one final order to the pair: have someone bring her some fresh clothes. Back in Tokyo, we see that the assassins have been dragging Denji to the street and are attempting to load his body into a van; complaining about Denji's weight, the man dragging Denji struggles to lift him as another man shouts for him to hurry. As they wait for Denji to be loaded into the van, the previously transformed man turns to Sawatari and states that he won't be able to fight for a while, which she acknowledges. Turning to a man who appears to be the van's driver, the man dragging Denji asks for help; lowering his head in frustration, the driver reluctantly agrees. Ordered to grab Denji's torso from the other side, the driver retches in disgust as he considers what part of Denji to hold on to, but his attention is suddenly drawn somewhere else. Turning and staring into space, the driver looks around, disturbed; this frustrates the man dragging Denji, and he begins berating the driver. Noticing this scene, Sawatari turns her attention to the driver, who seems befuddled. Snapping at him, the man dragging Denji orders the driver to stop freaking out and grab Denji, but the driver insists that everyone needs to listen to him because, to him, something feels wrong. Confused, Sawatari asks the man what he means, but before he can respond, he is crushed by an invisible force, spraying blood everywhere as his entire body is reduced to a red mist.

p7-11 (pages 10 and 11 are a double spread): Shocked and horrified by the driver's sudden death, the assassins try to figure out what happened. Pulling herself together and sensing danger, Sawatari pulls out her walkie-talkie and desperately calls for Team E to have Team C reconfirm Makima's death. Answering her call, a man from Team E casually reports that they've been unable to reach Team C for some time, but as he speaks to her, his head begins to compress; screaming in agony, he is flattened by an invisible force in the same way the driver was, spraying blood everywhere and scaring off two nearby birds. Looking to Sawatari for guidance, the previously transformed man sweats anxiously as Sawatari silently stares into space. Lowering her walkie-talkie, Sawatari puts the pieces together and, as a crow flies overhead, bitterly mutters "that woman" before trailing off. In Kyoto, Makima, Kurose, Tendo, and many convicts have gathered at a shrine. The convicts are dressed in simple white robes and are kneeling, restrained and blindfolded, in two rows; likewise, standing off to the side, Kurose and Tendo are also blindfolded, although their blindfolds are black, in contrast to the white blindfolds of the convicts. In the center of the convicts, Makima stands silently pressing her hands together, grinning slightly.

p12-19: Confused, Kurose asks Tendo why they're also wearing blindfolds, and Tendo reveals that Makima reports directly to the chief cabinet secretary; as such, ordinary devil hunters aren't authorized to know which devils Makima has contracts with. Kneeling in front of a convict, Makima orders the man to say the name "Shuzo Mishima"; when he complies, Makima smiles. Standing up, Makima presses her palms together and begins to twist her hands. Back in Tokyo, the previously transformed man shouts at the man dragging Denji, revealed to be Mishima, but his words fall on deaf ears as Mishima stares blankly into the sky. As Makima twists her hands more, Mishima's body begins twisting as well, eventually causing his body to burst, showering Sawatari and the previously transformed man in blood. Frightened, Sawatari and the man stare down at Mishima's remains, knowing there's nothing they can do; at the same time, in Kyoto, the convict who spoke Mishima's name falls forward, seemingly dead. Moving on to another convict, Makima orders him to say the name "Takashi Inoue"; the convict complies, albeit with confusion, and Makima once again smiles. Switching our view back to Tokyo, Makima splatters Takashi, spraying his blood onto another gunman; quickly moving on, Makima then splatters this nameless gunman as well. As convicts continue to fall over and gunmen continue to bust apart, one gunman takes an old woman hostage. Pointing his gun at her head, he looks around, pleading with a crowd of onlookers for anyone to help him; undeterred by his threat, Makima squashes the gunman like all the others, leaving his hostage unharmed, though she is now covered in the gunman's blood. Seeing the gruesome scene, the crowd shrieks in fear, and the old woman drops to her knees. After watching numerous gunmen burst apart, Sawatari and the previously transformed man look around, confused and anxious, as Makima's attack comes to an end. Standing in front of a row of deceased convicts, Makima informs Kurose and Tendo that they can remove their blindfolds, as she's done all that she can do from Kyoto; as such, Makima declares that she's returning to Tokyo.

And that's that. I am very sorry for the giga-delay with this chapter; as you may know, if you've checked the transcript archive, I was dealing with some serious health issues. To make a long story short, I had a very bad infection in my legs, including several lesions, and was hospitalized for a few days. Afterwards, during my recovery period, I decided to delay the transcript, since it was hard enough just dealing with day-to-day difficulties; my recovery was slower than I anticipated, and that's what caused this chapter to be released so late. Thankfully, I am fully recovered now, so I don't expect this to be an issue moving forward. Regardless, as always, the chapter transcript archive can be found here. There is no "break week" for legacy chapters, since they're already all available, but I do plan to post transcripts every Tuesday, now that the series has ended. Until then, I hope this transcript can help anyone who wants or needs it.

[spoilers, chapter 26] Chapter breakdown/transcript for the visually impaired

#Important: please read this before proceeding

As you may or may not know, I used to make weekly transcripts for Chainsaw Man chapters, prior to the series finale, and this is the twenty-sixth of what I refer to as "legacy transcripts". Currently, as of writing this, I have transcribed chapters 1-26, as well as chapters from 153 onwards, and an archive containing links to them can be found here.

Without further ado:

p1-6: Pulling out a walkie-talkie, the woman looks down at her left hand, which is now bleeding; taking a closer look, she is strangely missing four finger nails, causing blood to drip from the exposed nailbed. Making a call on the radio, the woman identifies herself as Sawatari and requests backup in the battle against "Chainsaw". Finishing her call, Sawatari turns to look at Aki, likely in an attempt to see if he presents a threat; still in shock over Himeno's death, Aki remains motionless, kneeling in a puddle of his own blood, which Sawatari seems to focus on. Narrowly reacting to the approaching sound of Denji's motor, Sawatari stops focusing on Aki and quickly dodges out of the way; as she does, the transformed man barrels past her, desperately parrying Denji's furious swings as he pursues him. Roaring, Denji delivers a heavy slash, and the man raises his blades to block it; nonetheless, the force of Denji's blow throws the man backward through a nearby wall. Raising his arm and counterattacking, the man slashes downward, cleaving through a different wall and cutting deep into Denji's shoulder. As Denji reels from the pain, he quickly pulls his cord to heal his shoulder; at the same time, two men enter the scene, guns drawn, and stand beside the transformed man. Seeking orders, one of the gunmen asks if they should shoot; grinning, the transformed man orders the gunmen to aim for Denji's arms or heart, seemingly disregarding Sawatari's order to avoid damaging Denji's heart. Rushing forward and shouting "take this", Denji intercepts one of the gunmen and knees him in the jaw, causing the man to fire his gun into the air; quickly pivoting as the first gunman falls, Denji follows up by delivering a roundhouse kick to the other gunman. Seeing this, the transformed man rushes forward and swings his blade at Denji, but Denji uses his momentum to quickly parry the attack in mid-air by spinning into it.

p7-11: Landing from their respective attacks, both Denji and the transformed man skid against the ground, facing each other. Standing up, Denji winces in pain and notices a gash along his chest; as he wonders how and when he got cut, one of the gunmen recovers and fires four shots at Denji, causing even more pain. Sheathing one arm's chainsaw, Denji rushes the gunman and delivers a brutal elbow drop to the man's head, stunning him and causing him to drop the gun. Wrapping his arm around the gunman's neck, Denji stands up and brings the gunman with him. Addressing the transformed man, Denji asks if the gunman is his "buddy"; playing coy, the man questions what Denji plans to do if he is. Sadistically licking the gunman's face, Denji threatens that he'll turn the gunman's face into "mincemeat" if the transformed man moves "even one millimeter". Indignantly cursing Denji for his hostage tactic, the transformed man crouches down and enters his iaido quick-draw stance; unfamiliar with the threat the man poses in this stance, Denji instead views his crouching as an act of submission and taunts the man, demanding that he drops to his knees. In the blink of an eye, the man vanishes, leaving behind a ring of dust. Unaware that the man is standing behind him, Denji questions where he went; the gunman, presumably aware of what just transpired, sweats nervously. As the man's attack takes effect, we see that he cut cleanly through Denji and his hostage, sending their torsos flying; realizing he's been injured, Denji shouts in pain as blood sprays from his abdomen. Looking down at his handiwork, the man watches as Denji and the gunman bleed out on the ground. Standing up and trying to shake off his injuries, the second gunman approaches the transformed man; lifting Denji by his chainsaw head's handle, the man states that he'll carry Denji and orders the gunman to get the car. As the gunman turns to leave, the man orders him to hurry up, even though all of Denji's allies should be "shot dead by now". Grunting, the man's form begins to melt and fall away, just as Denji's does when he returns to his human form.

p12-19: As the last of his transformation falls away like sweat, the man celebrates and triumphantly states that "even devil hunters are humans" and that they "can't win against guns". As if confirming his belief, we then quickly cut to the various members of Division 4 lying on the ground dead, all but one of them executed by gunshots; among them are Arai, Fushi, what remains of Himeno, and, most notably, Makima herself. Returning to the train, Makima's assassins rally together to confirm her death; fearing for their lives, various other passengers panic and cower from the gunmen. Noting that they're nearing the train station, one of the gunmen orders the group to disperse to other train cars and blend in with the civilians. Turning to leave, one of the gunmen finds himself face-to-face with Makima; despite being covered in blood, she seems unharmed and smiles coldly at the man. Panicking, the man raises his gun, but before we can see what happens, our focus shifts to the Kyoto train station. As the crowd hustles and bustles, two public safety agents—one man and one woman—stand by, waiting for Makima's arrival. Running up to them, a third agent notifies the duo that special divisions one, two, three, and four were all ambushed by gunmen in Tokyo, shocking them. Dismayed, the man can hardly believe that Makima is dead; more annoyed than concerned, the woman instead complains that they've been waiting there for nothing. As a train pulls into the station and begins loading and unloading passengers, Makima steps off the train; despite her clothes being covered in blood, her face and hair are now perfectly clean. Calling out to the man and woman, named Kurose and Tendo respectively, Makima bluntly states that they "came under fire on the shinkansen" and that there are bodies on the train that need to be cleaned up; furthermore, she states that the luncheon is canceled. Showing concern for Makima, Kurose and Tendo question whether she's injured, since her clothes are covered in blood, but Makima states that the blood isn't hers; instead, she strangely insists that she wasn't hit by any bullets, which directly contradicts what we witnessed. As we look inside the train, we see a gruesome sight: all four gunmen lie dead with large holes through their chests; their blood collectively pools on the floor of the train and coats many of the surrounding seats, further cementing that their deaths were brutal.

And that's that. I am very sorry for the late-night upload on top of having the chapter release on a weird day; I was crazy busy this week and felt sick by the time I was done. Regardless, as always, the chapter transcript archive can be found here. There is no "break week" for legacy chapters, since they're already all available, but I do plan to post transcripts every Tuesday, now that the series has ended. Until then, I hope this transcript can help anyone who wants or needs it.

#Important: please read this before proceeding

As you may or may not know, I used to make weekly transcripts for Chainsaw Man chapters, prior to the series finale, and this is the twenty-fifth of what I refer to as "legacy transcripts". Currently, as of writing this, I have transcribed chapters 1-25, as well as chapters from 153 onwards, and an archive containing links to them can be found here. These legacy transcripts are to transcribe the 152 chapters preceding chapter 153. Even though these chapters have been available for quite some time, I will be writing as if they are brand new in order to preserve the reading experience for first-time readers. Anyway, that's all I wanted to say in regards to this topic.

Without further ado:

p1-6 (on Viz, the chapter technically starts on page 2, as page 1 is irrelevant): Reeling in pain, Aki is left speechless as he nervously looks down at his chest wound; falling to his knees, he slumps over as his blood drips to the ground, head held low. Behind him, the transformed man turns to face Aki and begins stepping towards him, blades at the ready. Observing the situation, the serpent-eyed woman states that Aki is alive because public safety's suits are sturdy; commanding the transformed man, she orders him to finish off Aki. Knowing someone needs to intervene, Himeno begs Power to forget about her and save Aki, but Power quickly shuts her down, anxiously stating that she couldn't even see the man move. Speaking to her ghost devil, Himeno begs it to intervene; speaking through a mouth on its hand, the ghost devil also refuses, ominously stating that the mysterious woman is too frightening. Quickly putting her hand to her mouth, Himeno coughs, and as she pulls her hand away, she sees her hand covered in blood; feeling hopeless, she looks at Aki before looking back down at her bloody hand. Making peace with her situation, Himeno decides to use what's left of her life to haggle with the ghost devil: in exchange for giving the ghost devil "all of her", the ghost devil will let Himeno use "all of it". Taken aback, the ghost devil thinks for a moment before smiling a wicked grin; with a contract set, the ghost devil manifests itself fully as hundreds of long, crawling hands reach out from the void. Manifesting before the transformed man, the ghost devil has a gaunt, feminine face with incredibly long, messy hair hanging over its body; both the devil's eyes and mouth seem to be sewn shut, with its mouth seemingly sewn into an almost-serene perpetual smile. Instead of a torso, the devil's head connects to a large mound of flowers, and, spreading out from its lower body, the devil holds itself aloft with hundreds of hands. As the transformed man braces himself for battle, crossing his swords, Himeno thinks to herself "Aki can cry".

p7-11: As the ghost devil strikes at the transformed man, reaching out with its countless hands, Himeno continues thinking of Aki. She muses that devil hunters get so desensitized to seeing people they're close to die that they find themselves unable to cry, but Aki is different; instead, he is apparently quick to cry, even for people he wasn't particularly close to. Swinging his blades, the transformed man cleaves through dozens of the devil's arms as Himeno confesses that Aki's emotional vulnerability is what made him so interesting. Reaching out with her right arm to control the ghost devil, Himeno states that having someone care enough to cry for you must make a person happy; as she finishes this thought, however, her right arm vanishes, leaving her sleeve to flutter in the wind. Overwhelming him, the ghost devil breaks the man's guard and skewers through his torso with one of its hands; as Himeno commands the devil to grab hold of him, the man shouts out to the mysterious woman and begs her to help. Lifting her arm, the woman watches as the man is pulled close to the ghost devil; he screams in fear as the devil brings him up to its face, smiling widely despite being pierced by the man's forehead blade. As Himeno focuses on controlling the devil with her left arm, it too vanishes, much to her dismay; feeling weak, Himeno nearly falls over, but as she rights herself, she locks eyes with Aki. Realizing her time is running out, Himeno echoes the order she's given to Aki countless times over the years: "Don't you die". As Aki stares at her helplessly, Himeno continues, stating that, when she dies, she wants him to cry for her. Her arm raised, the mysterious woman makes her move and calls on a snake devil, ordering it to swallow the ghost devil whole.

p12-19 (pages 12 and 13 are a double spread): Bursting onto the scene in the blink of an eye, a gargantuan snake devil snaps its jaw shut, severing the ghost devil's head from the rest of its body and swallowing the rest, in the process freeing the transformed man. The snake devil has only one visible eye and a stubby head, but its mouth is unnaturally long, stretching out from its body; the devil's malformed jaw seems to be composed of many interlocking humanoid arms. Resting her hand atop the snake, the woman commands it to return, and it vanishes, leaving behind a heavy cloud of smoke. Lowering his gaze, Aki is distraught. Where Himeno once was, all that remains is her clothes, as it appears her contract has been fulfilled; as he focuses on her eyepatch, he is overwhelmed by sorrow. Noticing Himeno's absence, the mysterious woman turns her attention to the transformed man, who has seemingly recovered from his bout with the ghost devil. Looking around, the man states that "the fiend", Power, ran away at some point; unconcerned, the woman states that their goal is Denji's chainsaw heart, and that they don't need to pursue Power. Lying on the ground, barely hanging on, Himeno's ghost hand shudders to life; weakly floating through the air, guided by forces unknown, it makes its way to Denji and grabs his pull cord. Mustering all the energy it can, the hand yanks on Denji's cord, briefly lifting Denji off the ground and causing his motor to roar to life. Hearing this unexpected sound, the man and woman turn to face Denji as he sits up, chainsaw bursting from his forehead; as blood spills down his face, Denji's eyes are filled with rage. Bracing himself, the transformed man boasts that he'll slice Denji in half, and the woman warns him not to damage Denji's heart. Fully transformed, Denji muses that he doesn't "get" what the duo's "deal is", but he's sure they're "bad guys"; growing excited, Denji states that he loves fighting "bad guys" because nobody will complain about him "murderizing" them. Undaunted, the transformed man bluntly states that he'll "put Denji down a second time"; rushing towards each other and leaping into the air, Denji and the man begin their clash in earnest.

And that's that. I am very sorry for the late-night upload on top of a delay. In case you missed it, this is the second legacy transcript I've posted this week; I posted the transcript for chapter 24 earlier this week, on wednesday. As always, the chapter transcript archive can be found here. There is no "break week" for legacy chapters, since they're already all available, but I do plan to post transcripts every Tuesday, now that the series has ended. Until then, I hope this transcript can help anyone who wants or needs it.

#Important: please read this before proceeding

As you may or may not know, I used to make weekly transcripts for Chainsaw Man chapters, prior to the series finale, and this is the twenty-fourth of what I refer to as "legacy transcripts". Currently, as of writing this, I have transcribed chapters 1-24, as well as chapters from 153 onwards, and an archive containing links to them can be found here.

Without further ado:

p1-7: As Aki finishes unsheathing his katana, we see that it ends in a sharp spike, making it more akin to an incredibly large nail (that just so happens to have a handle) than any actual sword; seeing the katana's shape, Power is confused. Unintimidated, the transformed man slouches over before leaping towards Aki, reaching him before Aki can ready his blade; as the man swings his massive blades, Aki narrowly dodges them by falling backward to the ground, leaving the man to soar over him. Quickly standing, Aki thrusts his blade into the man, stabbing him between his shoulders and causing a shallow wound; as the katana sinks into the man, Aki shouts "Fire". The world seems to pause and grow dark for a moment as an otherworldly finger manifests, entering the world from outside the manga's frame; it flicks the pommel of Aki's sword, launching it forward and skewering the transformed man, causing him great pain. From some other world, shrouded in so much darkness that only lips are visible, some creature ominously states the number "Three". Lurching forward, the transformed man gathers his bearings before gritting his teeth; watching him cautiously, Aki prepares himself for an oncoming attack. Turning around, the man swings his swords towards Aki, attempting to cleave through him, but he is prepared and dodges the attack by kneeling. Springing back up, Aki readies his sword again and shouts "Fire", causing the finger to once again flick it forward into the man; entering the frame, as if to whisper to the transformed man, the dark figure counts down, now stating "Two". As the transformed man swings his swords in desperation, Aki leans forward and crouches slightly while shouting "Fire"; using the momentum of the finger's flick to rush forward with his sword, Aki stabs the man in the gut while dodging his attack. The figure counts down once more, now reaching "One".

p8-12: Enraged, the man kicks Aki, launching him away and causing him to crash into a slab of rubble with his sword pinned behind him; as Aki groans in pain, the transformed man lowers his head and bemoans how he's "had enough of that creepy thing". Ignoring the man, Aki shouts out for "Curse" to "finish it", and in response, the shadowy figure reaches "Zero". Two decrepit hands manifest in the world and quickly wrap their fingers around the transformed man, restraining him; confused, the man grunts in pain as the hands lift him into the air. The world around the man grows dark as he's lifted higher, and, reaching their zenith, the hands change their position, now holding him aloft by his arms, as if crucifying him. A skeletal body manifests around the man, trapping him within its ribcage, and two demonic heads bite into his shoulders; as the skeleton gnaws through the man's body, blood sprays from his body like a fountain and he screams in agony, although it seems as if we're unable to hear it. As the skeleton vanishes, the man falls to the ground with a wet splat; lying still, as blood pools around him, he appears dead. Wiping off his face, Aki looks at the man's corpse for a moment as he relaxes, but then he remembers the carnage the man wrought prior to their fight and panics. Sweating anxiously, Aki turns to Power and asks how Himeno is doing. Kneeling next to her, with her hand on Himeno's wound, Power bluntly tells Aki that "she'll need a doctor, fast"; lying with her head on Power’s lap, Himeno’s wound is still bleeding despite Power’s efforts, and it’s unclear if she’s conscious or not. Nervously muttering to himself, Aki states that the man had a gun, which should be impossible to obtain in Japan unless someone is a police officer or a devil hunter; thinking about how this is possible, Aki recalls the man's threat to Denji that the gun devil wanted his heart. Trying to calm himself, Aki takes charge and states that their first course of action is to get Himeno medical attention; before he can continue giving orders, Aki freezes as a young woman enters the ruined restaurant and walks behind him.

p13-19 (pages 18 and 19 are a double spread): Speaking to Aki, the mysterious woman asks him if she understands the nature of his curse devil's power, speculating that if he "runs someone through with that spike enough times" they'll instantly die; refusing to wait for an answer, she glares at him, but nonetheless compliments Aki on his "nice moves". Confused, Aki questions the woman over where she came from, and whether she's with the transformed man. Without answering him, the woman squats down next to the transformed man and, only a moment later, the two of them rise to their feet. The man is slumped over, looks haggard, and is covered in his own blood. Meanwhile, the woman casually stands next to him, one hand on his shoulder and the other in her hoodie's pocket. Getting a proper look at her, we see that her hair is lightly colored, with darker roots, and she has snakelike eyes; aside from her hoodie, she is wearing shorts and tall, sporty sneakers. Shocked by the man's resurrection, Aki tries to make sense of what he sees before him, but he stumbles over his words. Speaking to the man, the mysterious woman questions why he lost to Aki; hanging his head in shame, the man confesses that he underestimated Aki and really let his guard down. Seemingly giving him a second chance, the woman orders the transformed man to "get on with it" and kill Aki. Lowering his head even further, the transformed man squats down and braces himself, as if entering an iaido quick-draw stance. Bracing himself for the man's attack, Aki draws his sword, but it's already too late; landing behind Aki, the man has zipped past him faster than the eye could see, frightening him and Power. A moment later, the transformed man stands with his arms spread triumphantly as blood sprays from Aki's chest; reeling from his injuries, Aki gasps as he falls backward, and the man's face contorts into a hideous smile.

And that's that. I am very sorry for the late-night upload on top of a delay. As previously stated on the archive page, I am going to try and post a second chapter this week to make up for last week's triple delay; ideally it will be available Friday the 1st.

As you may or may not know, I used to make weekly transcripts for Chainsaw Man chapters, prior to the series finale, and this is the twenty-third of what I refer to as "legacy transcripts". Currently, as of writing this, I have transcribed chapters 1-23, as well as chapters from 153 onwards, and an archive containing links to them can be found here.

Without further ado:

p1-8 (on Viz, the chapter technically starts on page 3, as pages 1 and 2 are irrelevant): Somewhere in Tokyo, Aki, Denji, Power, and Himeno sit together at a ramen restaurant, enjoying a meal. Elsewhere, we see Kobeni, Arai, and the other nameless devil hunters from Division Four out and about, doing their best to aid various citizens. Handing them a map, an old woman seemingly asks Kobeni and Arai for directions; when Kobeni points out the location, the old woman bows in gratitude, turns around, and walks away. Kobeni and Arai smile as their gaze lingers on the old woman, but they, too, eventually turn and walk away; once their backs are turned, however, the old woman faces them, reaches into the side of her coat. Pulling out a pistol, the old woman quietly lines up a shot, aiming directly at the back of Arai's head. Likewise, the rest of Division Four find themselves surrounded as the citizens they were helping also pull out guns; as gunshots ring out and echo through the streets, an old man and his dog turn their heads towards the sounds, curious about what the commotion is.

p9-13: Still at the ramen restaurant, Denji hears the gunshots but is unfamiliar with the sound; when he asks what that noise is, Power chides his ignorance and proclaims that it's the sound of taiko drums. Hearing Power's explanation, Aki is confused and wonders if there's an ongoing festival. Quickly moving on from the topic, Power probes Denji and Himeno, asking them if they're telling the truth about not sleeping together; smiling, Himeno assures her they didn't, stating that Denji is "quite the gentleman". As Himeno returns to her ramen, a man at a neighboring table sips the broth before inserting himself into the squad's conversation; the man has black hair that is slicked back, long sideburns running down his face, and is wearing what looks to be a leather trench coat. Complaining about the food's quality, he asks the squad whether they agree it tastes terrible; upon hearing his question, the squad turns to face the man, confused. Himeno wonders who the man is, but Denji quickly retorts that the food tastes fine to him; chiming in with her own complaint, Power chastises the man for speaking to her as if they're familiar. Responding to Denji's retort, the man muses aloud that Denji must be unable to judge flavor quality; despite this, he claims it's not Denji's fault, as, in his mind, eating "the same flavors in your childhood" will stunt one's palate as an adult. Lowering his head, the man says that having an unrefined palate lowers happiness. Aki and Himeno exchange a glance with each other, and Aki asks the group if they'd like to leave; despite Aki’s offer, Power snaps back at the man's claim, asserting that she's happy. Waxing nostalgically, the man abruptly changes the subject and states that his grandfather was the nicest man in the world and that he took him to eat at many expensive restaurants. Continuing as Denji stares at him curiously, the man states that his grandfather was a member of the yakuza, but he asserts that he was a "yakuza with principles"; he states that, in his mind, people like his grandfather are a necessary evil. Despite all the praise, the man's story grows darker as he asserts that his grandfather only killed a "handful of women and children", at least from what he's been told. Reaching into his coat, the man states that his grandfather would buy him anything he wanted using his "drug money" and that he was a "true Tokyo-ite" who was beloved by everyone. Withdrawing his hand, the man holds a photo in plain view and asks if Denji loved his grandfather too; as Denji takes a closer look at the photo of the man and his grandfather, he recognizes the grandfather as the yakuza debt collector who sold him out to the zombie devil. Growing annoyed, Denji asks the man to cut to the chase; at the same time, Aki is surprised and asks Denji if he knows this man. Reaching back into his coat, the man stands up and bluntly states that the gun devil wants Denji's heart; pulling out a pistol, the man quickly lines up a shot and shoots Denji in the head, killing him instantly as blood sprays from the wound.

p14-21: Moving quickly, the man fires two more shots, grazing Aki's right shoulder and Himeno somewhere; as the three injured parties fall to the ground, Power leaps into action, rushing the man and disarming him with a savage uppercut to the chin. Turning to Aki while the man is stunned, Power shouts for him to assist her and dodges out of the way as Aki lifts up his hand and shouts "kon". As the fox devil manifests and consumes the man, her size shatters the restaurant's walls and ceiling, sending debris flying. Standing in the wreckage, Aki anxiously looks around, trying to take stock of the situation. On one side of the restaurant, Denji's lifeless body lies on a pile of rubble, blood trickling down his face. On the other side of the restaurant, Himeno is braced against rubble, panicking; we can see that the bullet hit her in her chest, possibly piercing her heart, as she bleeds profusely from her chest, as well as her nose and mouth. Speaking to Aki, the fox devil ominously states that he's "put something monstrous" in her mouth that is neither human nor devil; as she says this, an incredibly long blade pierces through her and splits the devil’s head open. Emerging from the fox devil's slain body, drenched in blood, the man from before has transformed, much in the same way Denji does when he becomes Chainsaw Man. Two long katanas have sprouted from the man's hands, and a long, wide sword has emerged from his forehead. The man's head has changed shape more broadly as well, causing him to lose his skin, eyes, and lips, exposing the man's teeth; additionally, the top of the man's head has become a hat, and his forehead sword serves as the brim. As the transformed man sizes Aki up, Aki draws his katana from its sheath; readying himself, he orders Power to stabilize Himeno by halting her bleeding.

And that's that. I am immeasurably sorry for the late-night upload on top of an unprecedented triple delay; this week has sucked for me. As always, the chapter transcript archive can be found here.
