Dreame L50 Ultra vs X50 Ultra for heavy dog hair + low sofa clearance — worth the extra €110?
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to decide between the Dreame L50 Ultra and the X50 Ultra, and I’d really appreciate some real-world experiences from people who have used either of them.
In my country, the current prices are roughly:
Dreame L50 Ultra: ~€670
Dreame X50 Ultra: ~€780
So the difference is about €110.
From what I’ve researched so far, the two robots seem VERY similar overall.
The main differences I can actually find are:
- X50 has the retractable LiDAR tower
- X50 is lower profile (~8.9 cm vs ~9.7 cm)
- X50 seems to have slightly more advanced obstacle avoidance / structured light system
- X50 may have better edge/crevice cleaning
- L50 is technically the newer release
My use case:
- Small/medium apartment (~45 m² now, moving later to ~70 m²)
- Around 70-80% hard floor
- Some low-pile rugs
- Dog that sheds A LOT (fine undercoat hair everywhere)
- Daily robot cleaning
- I want to minimize manual vacuuming/mopping as much as possible
- Reliability and autonomy are VERY important to me
- I’m tired of rescue missions and robots getting stuck 😅
My current robot is an older Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum
Mop 2 Pro and it constantly:
- gets stuck on chair legs
- fights cables
- gets trapped under furniture
- requires babysitting
One important thing:
I have an IKEA sofa bed with ~10 cm clearance underneath.
This is why I’m seriously considering the X50’s retractable LiDAR system.
What matters most to me:
- Pet hair handling
- Avoiding tangles / maintenance
- Obstacle avoidance
- Low furniture navigation
- Reliable daily autonomous cleaning
- Good mopping
For people who tried both:
- Is the X50 actually noticeably smarter in real life?
- Does the retractable LiDAR make a meaningful difference?
- Is the L50 basically “95% of the X50”?
- Would you personally pay the extra €110?
Would love to hear real experiences, especially from pet owners.
