Elvance > atomoxetine

I’m thinking about trying a non-stimulant ADHD medication because my main problem is the constant intrusive thoughts and feeling like my brain is always observing everything around me. My mind just never seems to fully switch off, and that’s the symptom I struggle with the most.
My 20 mg stimulant has definitely helped, and I’m not saying it doesn’t work because it has. I just feel like it’s a bit inconsistent for me, and I keep wondering whether a non-stimulant might be a better fit and give me a steadier effect throughout the day rather than feeling up and down.
If I try it and it doesn’t work out, I know I can always discuss going back to my 20 mg stimulant with my clinician if they think that’s the best option. I just want to know in my own mind that I’ve explored all my options and found the medication that suits me best.
Has anyone else switched from a stimulant to a non-stimulant for similar reasons? I’d really like to hear your experiences. Does it calm the mind down
That’s all i ask I’m not bothered about focus and getting things done I’m always active with or without them
