Mysterious noise when releasing brakes
Hi guys! Has anyone experienced the same issue I have?
Car’s a 2017 Honda Jazz/Fit, have been through several mechanics and no one has ever found the cause of the noise.
Happened after a track day, brakes got so hot to the point of smoking (on track).
Weird thing is that it only makes this noise at slow speeds.
Already did:
- Check pads, swapped with a different ont
- Reseated springs
- New shock mounts and mount bearings
- Shocks are Tein endurapro plus, installed a month before track day
- Checked for subframe shift, loosened and retightened everything
- Bushings are all polyurethane
- Tried removing the sway bar end links, still has the noise
- Repacked inner cv joint to eliminate driveline lash, still there
- Checked for any wheel play, seems solid
- Relubed poly sway bar bushings
- Tie rods checked, both inner and outer
- Ball joints (Megan Racing RCA) still solid
- Checked for lash in steering rack, seems good
- Checked for debris in the subframe, cleaned, nothing
- Shook the car hard on post, nothing.
- Checked pad ears and seat, swapped, nothing
I work on my cars myself and this seems to be very odd. Had my mechanic checked and had a go signal to bring it to the track without issues, as they said all critical bolts and components are good.
What could this be?
