This house in Nepal that refused to go down during the catastrophic flash floods.
This happened in the Nuwakot district of Nepal. While the surrounding landscape and structures were entirely washed out by the raging Trishuli River, this specific 40-year-old home stood its ground against deep mud and debris currents. The family inside survived. Structural engineers are pointing to its deep tie-beams and robust foundation.
