Looking for waterproof eyepatch that actually works
Sorry if this is not allowed, I’m not sure if this technically counts as monocular but I figured if anyone would have the answer it would be people here. My mom recently had retinal detachment surgery and was told that she can’t expose it to outside water (she can shower+bath but no lakes or pools) for a month to prevent infection. However she has a seasonal campsite on a pond that she would be devastated to not be able to go in. She is currently looking at goggles, but I fear that would be too bulky for her to wear all day. Her appearance is also very important for her business so I fear she would get crazy tan lines on her face from continuous goggle wearing. So I’m trying to find an eyepatch she could wear that would keep water out of her eye.
She is familiar with wearing eye patches from past issues with her eye, and she says she doesn’t trust adhesive patches bc the ones she tried in the past left large gaps around the seal. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for patches or tricks that do not have this problem I would greatly appreciate it.
TLDR: looking for eyepatch suggestions to keep water out of contact with eye and has a secure seal
