Question: Ice Kid v Chipmunk

Do you think anything would be different if Ice Kid went first on the Tim Westwood freestyle instead of Chipmunk?

Chipmunk famously messed up the end of his freestyle after getting tongue tied, but Ice slid through his pretty smoothly.

Chipmunk only went first because Wiley said so. Westwood introduced Ice first.

It feels like the butterfly effect especially when you consider the phones and storage at that time. A lot of people who had the freestyle on their phone had the version which cut off after Chip finished.

The longer version was either compressed and bad audio or the file was too big and you didn’t want to delete others songs from your phone so didn’t have the full version.

I do believe Chipmunk would have always be successful but i really think it’s underrated how big of an impact the order was, how it was shared and helped or maybe hindered their fame.

p.s Chip is a better songwriter and he knowingly or not cracked the formula to have at least 2 songs on pretty much everyone’s phone in the playground for a solid 3 years. Despite his talent i don’t think Ice would’ve done the same but he didn’t get the same moment of vitality to give him the push to build momentum.

I went to look him up to find some music, he’s a ghost.

Have you been poor?

it seems like there’s a very set and specific path to earn money in this country and it seems to start out pretty young so even if you go to university if you picked a soft degree, you will struggle to then work in tech finance or law to earn this big money

i’ve been recently speaking to someone who is paid £725 a month and that has to cover all of their living expenses and while they’re bright and very determined they’re not working currently and don’t have the experience

can people who have been low earners especially during their adult foundational years? Let’s say between 20 and 28 and it’s more unfortunate as well because of the pandemic but is there a way for people like that to ever turn it around?

she doesn’t appear to want for anything, but it’s little things like she doesn’t really go on holiday. She doesn’t have a car. She doesn’t have a house. She doesn’t have any savings.

I just wonder with all the experience that you not have in the sub. Is there any feasible way for people to turn it around or how quickly is it possible to turn it around?
