[iOS/Mobile][2016(??)] RTS, vertical view, sci-fi/realistic game, semi-Age of War clone
[iOS/Mobile][RTS][2016(???)][Semi-realistic, futuristic, sci-fi]
The game was kind of like an Age of War style game but top-down and vertical scrolling. Your base, enemy base, send units at each other until one side wins kind of style. Units were all AI-driven, all you did was choose what to send and when.
I was pretty broke as a kid back then, so it was probably a F2P game.
You gain "money" (or whatever resource it was) over time and spent it on units to send to the other side. Each unit had a cooldown. There was no deckbuilding element to it. I may be wrong on this, but there may have also been special abilities on cooldown.
I recall the map being quite large, so you could scroll quite a bit to see what was coming towards you.
Units included a bunch of sci-fi standard stuff, but I recall mechs being at least one of them. I recall at least one level set inside a brown mesa/desert, but the environment may have shifted per level. I don't think the environment ever affected gameplay, mostly just for looks. There may have been some geometry/barriers in the level that the AI units navigated around.
From what I recall, the game was level-based (beat one level, onto the next), and PvE only (I think, if there's PvP I never did it at all).
There wasn't much story to it, nor any actual characters, it was purely an arcade casual game.
Graphics were semi-realistic but also semi-pixelated. Because the birds eye view was so high up, each unit appeared relatively small, so it looked realistic enough for the graphics specs of the iPad at the time.
2016 (is around when I played it, maybe not the release date) is a very rough guess, it very well could have been released up to 5 years before then, but probably not after then.
I recognise that this probably describes a trillion games on mobile, but it's what I got. Thanks to anyone who cracks it.
I've already looked into the following (suggested by AI):
- Mech Wars Online
- MechWarrior: Tactical Command
- MechCom series
- Galactic Frontline
- Xenowar
- Anomaly: Warzone
