President Jere Morehead told The Athletic last week that College Football Playoff issues could prompt the Southeastern Conference to have its own playoff.

"I think that would be fantastic,” Morehead said.

"I can’t imagine the ratings if that happened. I think we’d have tremendous interest in a situation of that nature.”

Sounds familiar.
Optimizing for ratings instead of quality of the product - sure there's tremendous interest in why people can't stop being so selfish and are clearly ruining the sanctity of amateur sports to further enrich those select few benefiting from said ratings.

No talk of "our players, our fans, our communities"

Just greed and unwillingness to spread the wealth. And it starts with the vocabulary used - are we really that dumb now?
