Hello! I am a avid herper and often go looking out for amphibians on my local greenway in Raleigh, NC. Since I got home from college this summer, I have noticed mysterious markings on toads I have found. I have never thought too much of it until tonight when 2/4 toads I photographed on my nightly walk had these markings. These toads were photographed on Abbots Creek Trail for reference. Could this be signs of a disease? Is this a result of possible pesticide use on the greenway? Looking for some insight on what this could be!

FYI: first two pictures are of the same individual and the third is the other individual I found with the mysterious marks
