Wood Frogs in Pennsylvania

I find these guys in the forest. They are really easy to tell apart from other frogs because they have that signature black mask around their eyes.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so many frogs in one spot in my life.

Felt like ten of them jumped into the pond at a time when I walked by.

Tadpoles in Hawaii

I was walking around in Hawaii in the forest and found these tadpoles in little puddles next to the river. I’m pretty sure they are cane toad tadpoles.

Hello I'm really into Herpetology but my friends keep saying I ain't gonna make a living learning about reptiles and amphibians

they keep saying become a doctor and it's better, although I don't swing to human biology or become an engineer and I'm good at math but I don't really like it that much, my parents told me do whatever you want but most of my friends keep saying change your mind and that I will regret it I don't know what to do honestly.

Spotted Salamander

A cute little guy in my natural bio-active outdoor terrarium. I called him/her Enigk (or puppy) and gave it a safe space to heal an injury, before releasing back to the exact spot I found it, by a fallen tree near a vernal pool. Gorgeous creatures.

Cane Toads in Hawaii

I would go outside at night at our resort in Maui, Hawaii, and find these cane toads EVERYWHERE.

Saved this pretty hognose from a construction site

They repaid the favor by shitting all over me. Worth it.

Recently Corrected, NOT a HellBender. But still a very CuteNewt. Would love more information!

My partner and I were hiking out in Linville Gorge Wilderness WNC when we spotted this little guy. Consensus seems to be that he’s an Eastern Newt.

We would love any additional information because we both became infatuated with him. We did our best to not disrupt him in anyway since he was very busy floating around in Incognito mode.

I previously posted this mistakingly identifying him as a HellBender.

Halp. This frand is in our home

We've had some pretty intense heat here in Florida, and this gorgeous Black Racer made his way into our home... I couldn't shut the door on him. Any tips to get them out? Figured I'd come to the experts 😉

We also have no way to block off the main space of our home, all of our doors are high enough off the floor he can get under easily, and we have (2) dogs and a cat inside.

Edit: snake was sealed in my office, and found them on the window sill. I was able to unscrew our screen, open the window, and encourage it outside.

Thank you for your help everyone!

Gold Dust Day Gecko without a tail.

Found him at the garden in our resort in Hawaii. He lost his tail, most likely through the caudal mechanism that they possess. like many other petioles, they can detach their tail at specialized fracture locations and continue wiggling to distracting a predator while the gecko flees.

Anything I can do to make our toad friends stay better?

We have a toad that’s taken up residence under a pallet in the goat stall. I evicted him from the barn thinking he was lost, but within an hour he’d travelled 50 ft and was back inside. He DARTED into this little nook, so I have to believe he lives here now.

Is there anything I can do to make his stay more pleasant? The goat barn is quite dry usually (limestone floor), but we’ve been dumping water to cool everything down. He has all the flies he can eat because of the poop, but would he appreciate a water dish?
